Chapter 19: Surprise Party

I was heading back to the class when someone tapped me on the shoulder; I looked back to see two boys who looked familiar. “Your Miku right?” one of the boys say. I nod about to ask why but stopped. These two were actually really close friends with Len.

“Well we’re actually having a surprise party for him at his favourite place, but we need you to lead him there without telling him about it, since you’re his girlfriend and all…” He says again looking at his watch.

My face brightens up. “o-of course I’ll do that!” The other boy looks at me surprised. “Great, here’s where the party is make sure it’s the right time as well!” He says. I take the paper from his hand and look at it…I should be able to get there on time, right?

“Bye” They both say waving their hands at me and going back to their class. I hear the second bell go off and I quickly run to the class. Everyone was in there seats already. I quietly took a seat down putting the paper in my pocket.

After class ended it was the end of the day, I said goodbye to everyone and head down to the school committee room where everyone was already sitting and waiting. I was always late for everything…I take a seat and look at everyone who looked tired, even Len.

What did I need to tell Len again…ah yes! I quickly scatter through my pocket to pick out the note. “Found it!” I say a little loudly, everyone is now staring at me. “Found what?” Gumi says trying to look at what the note said. I try to hide it from Len trying not to be obvious.

“What are you trying to hide from me?” Len says out of curiosity. I can’t lie to him…but I have to…

“I actually...i….wanted to go on a date with you…and this…is the place where I wanted to go…but…” I say sounding very innocent when really I wasn’t. I see Len’s face soften as he looks at me. “W-We can still go…?” He says starting to go red. I smile. “Really?” I say sounding so surprised. He nods.

I feel everyone staring at us, I look to see them all smirking and Ia smiling. I go red. I felt like telling them that they it was actually a birthday party not a date.  Rei coughs and changes the subject. I sigh in relief.

After the committee meeting ended everyone left except for me and Len. The date (the party) started at 6, and it was 4:30 right now. I need to make sure it’s at the exact time as well. “I didn’t think you would have gone as far as going on a….date…..with me.” Len says sitting next to me as I type in my phone the place where the party was.

And apparently it was Len’s favourite place…I wonder why? “Miku?? “ He says waving a hand in my face. I look at him giving him my sorry face. He smiles and lies down on the grassy area looking at the sky while I was busy fiddling with my phone.

“Its so peaceful..” He says silently closing his eyes. I looked at him sleeping and suddenly blushed. Kyaaa! Was he this cute when he was sleeping!? I had a sudden urge to kiss him on the cheek. I made one last check that his eyes were fully closed and I lightly kissed him on the cheek and quickly pulled back and blushed.
