Chapter 20: Gakupo

Dark, everything was dark…I felt lost for some reason, even though I could hear a faint voice.  

That voice was so familiar….was it Len? I groan in pain as I try to sit up from where I was laying on. I slowly open my eyes to see the familiar night sky. Everything was quiet. I somehow manage to get myself sitting up as I rub my eyes and look once again to see everyone who was at the party looking at me with worried eyes.

“Miku…..Miku……?” I hear Len’s voice again. I look on my right to see him holding my hand and looking at me worried as well.

“W-What happened?” I croak out pushing my strands of hair out my face. Wait…I remember, I was at the party and then I suddenly blacked out. The last memory I had was someone grabbing me from falling.

“Here drink some water.” The girl who was talking to Len before handed me over a cup full of water. I mouth the words ‘thank you’ and drink it all up. Once im done I give it back to her and somehow stand up.

I felt better than what I did before which was a good thing. I coughed. “Im fine now everybody, thank you for taking care of me.” I bow down. They all look slightly shocked but all bow back.

Everyone goes back to what they were doing except for Len who was just standing there.

I didn’t know what to say, or do…

I see Len grit his teeth and angrily walks back to somewhere quieter. Was he angry at me? I wanted to go see him…no I should see him. I start to walk to where he headed calling out his name quietly.

“Len……Len?” I say searching for any signs of him. I finally spot him sitting down on the grass all alone looking out at the sky. I slow down my pace and walk towards him and was about to tap his shoulder but resist.

I decide to sit down next to him, I hug my legs and look down on the floor. “Len, im sorry this happened I didn’t mean t-““stop.” He says coldly. “Im not angry at you, im angry at myself…I wasn’t there to help you it was that stupid Gakupo.” He rummages his hands through his hair now looking down at the floor.

I look at him surprised. So that time when I was falling…it wasn’t Len, it was Gakupo? I reach my hands out and hug him resting my head on his.

“Don’t be angry at yourself, you did nothing wrong.” I reassure him smiling. He hugs back.

He pulls out from the hug slowly and grabs both of my hands. “Miku, don’t ever fall in love with any other man, nor will i.” He says quietly. I nod and smile. “I won’t.” I say.

He slowly moves close to me, our lips touching. I hear a twig break. We both break away from the kiss and look to see the girl from earlier.

“I-I didn’t mean to disturb you too!” She says waving her hands in the air. I could see tears starting to form in her eyes. She runs off and Len runs after her yelling her name.
