Chapter 18: Len’s Birthday

*ALERT*

(You may cringe a lot since I don’t know how to write DRAMATICAL scenes!)

“It’s Len’s birthday!” I say yelling even though no one could hear me, only myself.

I jump out of bed and quickly throwing on my school clothes on and grabbing Len’s presents. I put my hair in two ponytails and race out the door.

I walk faster than usual since I did wake up late, he was probably already at school! I happily walked along the pathways smiling.

“What are you doing here?” I hear someone say from behind me, it was a familiar voice. I stop and turn around only to see Gakupo leaning on the wall staring at me.

“I’m going to school.” I say coldly. I was about to turn around and leave but he stops me. “You forgot your tie; you’ll get a detention if you don’t have it on.” He says smirking. I touch my shirt and realise I forgot to put it on.

“i-I forgot!” I say suddenly panicking. He gets of the wall and passes me. “Not my problem.” He laughs and walks away leaving me standing there.

If I run back to my house I can still come to class on time, right? I usually was wrong most of the time, but I decided to go with this option since I was running out of ideas.

I start running back to my house, bumping into people and occasionally saying sorry. Once I reach my house I quickly grab my tie and put it on and the run back to the school.

I could hear the third bell, I was really late! And on Len’s birthday too! I hurry to my class to see the teacher calling out the roll. Oh no.

“You’re late, Miku.” He says sternly. The whole class stares at me while Gakupo is trying to hide his laugh. “B-B-Because….i left my tie!” I say feeling slightly embarrassed. He sighs and goes back to calling the roll. I was safe this time!

I need to see Len now, but he is probably in class….i bet all the girls already gave him his presents! I unpack my bag and sit in my seat as I hear giggling from behind me. I slowly turn around to see Gakupo laughing.

I roll my eyes and focus back to what the teacher was saying. What was most important was giving Len’s present.

Once class was over I quickly grab the present and run to Len’s classroom. I felt so out of place, they were all smart people and I was…well…the dumbest out of all of them! I knock quietly even though no one really cared. I took a quick search around the room for any set of blue eyes and blonde hair but there was nobody.

“Hey, you’re pretty cute” I hear a voice call out to me. There was a group of boys standing at a desk staring at me. I decide to ignore them but the boy who called out to me came closer and closer to me. “Don’t ignore me, I just want to play.” I step back a bit frightened.

Why was I so scared…I couldn’t help the fear showing in my eyes. I reached the end of the wall as he places his hands on the wall. I jump a little. “S-stop...” I say gulping loudly. He laughs as he goes closer to my face.

“What are you going to do?” He laughs again. He touches my cheek, slowly sliding his hand down.

“Get off her, asshole.” I hear Len’s voice. The guy takes his hands of the wall now facing Len. I felt Goosebumps as the man brought up his first about to punch Len. The first thing I wanted to do was run to Len to stop him but I was frozen.

Len blocked his fist from hitting his face and brought up his fist up to the man’s nose. The person suddenly fell back, with a crooked nose and blood coming out. I started shaking and looked as everyone crowded the person.

I could hear girls whisper things like “Len was so cool!” “Did you see how he blocked his fist?” I was still tightly holding on to the present. I took a quick glance at Len who still looked angry.

I dropped the present letting everything fall out and ran up to Len and hugged him. I could slowly hear his breathing lower. He hugged back, holding me tightly.

“I’m sorry…I didn’t want you to see such a thing…yet i…” He stops talking and tightens his grip. “It’s okay Len…” I say quietly.

He lets go of my slowly and looks down at me, hiding his face. It hurt to see Len so sad, especially since this day was very special…AH! I forgot to say happy birthday!

I look around not knowing when or how to say it. “ah!” I say walking back to the presents and slowly putting them in the bag placing them in a neat position. I turn around and look at him. Was this the right time?

I hold the presents with my two hands and awkwardly walk up Len. “H-HAPPY B-BIRTHDAY!” I say pushing over the presents. “I-it’s not much….im  sorry…” I say looking away. I slowly go red as he opens up the present one by one.

“Miku…” He says quietly. I try to look at him but it’s embarrassing. He moves closer and hugs me. “Thank you…for everything.” I try to speak but I stay quiet.

The bell rings suddenly and I slowly come back to my senses. I move away from the hug and smile. “break times already over so soon!” I say to Len who looked slightly disappointed.

He went close to my face and gave me a quick peck on the lips so sudden. He grins. “See you later” He says walking back into the class.

I was just standing there while everyone was passing me. I finally given him the present, and I was happy.
