Kiba:
I dressed, walked Akamaru, went by Shino and Hinata's house and then towards Yumi's. I noticed Naruto walking off with Sakura, Sai, and Yamato. Probably on a mission. Akamaru barked excitedly, the Jonin exams were to begin soon. I patted his head as we walked. All of the sudden a figure jumped down from the roof of the apartment. Hinata jumped and yelped in shock.
"Jonin Exams!" Yumi yipped, and twirld around on one foot. Something about her was off, not normal for some reason.
"Are you okay, seem kind a messed up today?" I asked her.
"Relax Kiba I'm just fine today infact I feel great so don't go worrying about me because I'm doing just fine okay Kiba?" Yumi talked very quickly.
"I smell coffee, did you have a cup?" asked Shino.
"Yeah I had a cup of coffee with cream and sugar I've never had coffee and its really good you should try some with lots and lots of sugar Shino" Yumi said all at once. I facepalmed, she was hyper off of cafine.
"A ninja shouldn't drink coffee. Not when they have important events like the Jonin Exams" Shino said sternly.
"Lighten up Shino, she'll be fine" I promised. I would make sure of that too. Soon we'd reached the location to sign up for the exams. Ten-Ten, Lee, and Shikamaru were there as well as many other people that I didn't know. Sand ninja, hidden-mist ninja, hidden rock, and hidden cloud ninja were there. We soon signed up and waited for announcements.
"Welcome all, to begin the first challenge in the Jonin exams. You have twenty minutes to gear up and prepare yourselves.
"We need water, food, and tools" Shino said.
"I got the food" I said rushing off. I already had a stash of food outside in the bushes. When I came back Hinata had the water and Shino had the tools. Yumi was- well being cute as ever. She appeared very loopy from the caffine of coffee.
"Allright, lets go!" said Anko, the proctor. After hiking out a bit, and were divided up we soon stood in front of the entrace to what looked like a mine.
"This is an old mine that has been converted into the first part of the Jonin exams" said the man that guided us here.
"This'll be easy" I said grinning, Akamaru barked loudly.
"Don't get cocky Kiba. It's probably a twisting maze of hallways, and not to mention we do need to find a scroll somewhere in the middle of it" Shino reminded me. I rolled my eyes dramaticly.
"Good luck, I wish you well. You may begin" he said. We first walked in, rather than dashing through. We had six days to nagivate through the mines, grab a scroll, and make it out. Supposently, like the Forest of Death there were some creatures running about as well as booby-traps.
Yumi:
This is so much fun we're going into a maze! Like the cat and mouse or something like that. I grinned and began to skip. 'I wish I had some coffee' I thought as Hinata, Shino, Kiba, and I walked down the hallway. I felt so great, so giddy. I was hearing something, something strange as we walked down. We went straight and kept walkeing and then the paths turned at different angles.
"I say left" Kiba decided. Shino shrugged in response. The sound was louder now, echoing.
"Hey Kiba don't you hear that I hear that it's not good" I blurted all at once. Kiba looked at me funny and laughed, "Never letting you have coffee again" he said, and his voice trailed off. Something was coming and I could sense it coming down the path- rolling. Hinata gasped.
"We need to get out of the way" she demanded. As if on que our exit closed off. Kiba stood in front of us with Akamaru beside him.
"Lets go Akamaru" he said, claws coming out. Without realizing it my chakra claws formed into 5 1/2 long claws, longer than usual. There was a puff of smoke as Akamaru turned into a clone of Kiba. Kiba bent down on all fours, I could sense their chakra and it was strong. I tilted my head to the side listening intently. I could hear another sound under the echo of the first sound, very strange.
"Fang Passing Fang!" Akamaru and Kiba yelled together as they broke through a boulder than came rolling down. Hinata yelped and both she and Shino shield themselves from the bits of rock that flew out.
"Kiba look out!" Shino yelled to both Kiba and Akamaru. There was a second boulder that had just come into view. Kiba and Akamaru were still down though. I rushed forward, both arms behind me.
"Yumi no!" Kiba yelled, but I payed him no mind.
"Ha!" I yelled as I smashed through the larger boulder with my two jutsu combo, Chakra Scalpel and Claws. I giggled relentlessly for alsolutely no reason. 'I'm stronger' I thought proudly.
I then heard Shino and Kiba whispering, "She's dangerous when full of caffeine" Kiba whispered and Shino nodded in agreement. I held up my first.
"You got a problem with me?" I demaned to know.
"Errrrrr- um no" Kiba lied. I gritted my teeth, I could sense their lies but I didn't say anything. Again we started walking, and my senses were dulling and my head was starting to hurt.
Kiba:
"You think she's okay?" whispered Hinata.
"No" Shino muttered, a hint of amusment in his tone. I looked back at Yumi who was staggering a bit.
"Caffeines running low" I chuckled quietly. The more we walked the more she staggered until Yumi fell over and onto Akamaru's back. He whimpered softly and looked in my direction.
"She's fine boy, just tired" I laughed. She lay on Akamaru's back now as we continued walking. 'They gave us six days to nagivate this maze, I wonder just who long it is' I thought. Occasionaly we went uphill, then downhill or the passage ways became very narrow. Just up ahead there was,
"Aw man, dead end" I complained loudly. Shino went to observe the wall, checking for a way through.
"I sense chakra running through the wall, and there's a crack. Perhaps we can break through" Shino suggested. I made the tiger handsign and bent down on all fours.
"Leave it to me then" I told my teammates. Hinata took a slight step back, and I used passing fang to slam into the wall. Unfortunantely I ended up upside down on the ground very dizzy. I groaned, "Didn't work, ouch"
"Yumi are you doing any better?" asked Hinata. Yumi was walking up now, but I think she was worse than ever or just as bad still. She nodded her head in silly manner. She made a handsign.
"Wait what are you doing?" I and Shino asked, but she made no respond. She hic-cupped and grinned before shrinking. Her clothes turned into scales and became even smaller with her until a white snake was left. It slithered into the crack in the wall.
"Great, now what?" I complained.
"She's quite loopy, like Lee when he has alcohol. Do you think she'll come back?" asked Shino.
"I'm sure she would" Hinata said quietly. 'Sure she would but in her current state?' I wondered. I waited, and waited, but it didn't seem like the loopy Yumi was coming back. Not a sound, only the occasional creak and drip of water in the distance. I took a sip of my water, it had become quite hot down here. All of the sudden there was a loud rumbling and the crack in the wall went up until the wall opened. Yumi was leaning on the wall with a cute, goofy grin on her face. I went to thank her and hug her, but she pushed me away without a word.
"Just let her be Kiba, but keep an eye on her. We don't know how she'll behave really" Shino warned me. I nodded in understandment.
"Perhaps, we should take a quick rest" Hinata suggested. Without hesitation I flopped down, but kept my eyes on Yumi who didn't seem the slightest bit tired. Slowly my eyelids felt heavier and heavier till I nodded off.
