Shino:
As we sprinted through the trees I sent a few different groups of my insects a good distance around us. It was just a precautionary measure. All of us are sensory type ninja's between sensing and seeing chakra, Hinata, and a good sense of smell, Kiba and Yumi. There was always a loop hole in all abilties no matter how strong the ninja. It's wise to be extra caustious especialy when you know the enemy is about. I stopped on the branch,
"Wait" I told my group. Hinata, Yumi, and Kiba stopped on the branch just ahead.
"What now Shino? I don't sense any problems up ahead. I told you I was being car-" Kiba started ranting on.
"I'm sense the work of a powerfull jutsu, some chakra up ahead. Hinata scan with your byokugon up about two miles" I told her.
"Right" she said, "Byokugon" she said making the tiger handsign. The veins around her eyes became more prominent and she began to focus on what may lay upahead.
Hinata:
I looked up head. Twenty feet and so on. Everything appeared to be black and white except a blue patch up ahead. It was a massive amount of chakra, some sort of barrier jutsu. I looked around at the chakra two miles ahead of our current position. There were three seperate points and a large creature lurking in the middle of it.
"There's a large beast in the middle of a barrier jutsu" I told them. I looked around our current area before deactivating my byakugan. There was no immediate danger around us.
"Alright I see nothing around us, we must go around" I told them. Shino nodded and then Kiba groaned.
"Aw man, that's going to take more time to go around" he complained.
"Quite complaining Kiba" Yumi snapped at him. I stiffled a laugh, it would be rude, but it was funny when she snapped at him. We continued going west, away from the tripple barrier. 'Yes it'll take time, but we must avoid these creatures, these traps they've set up for us' I thought. Once more I activated my byokugan to scan the area for danger, but I sense none. All off the sudden the ground began to quake and a tall, purple, glass-like bubble rose up and encosed off the area at three different points.
"Aw fudge, looks like we ran into a tripple barrier" Yumi said looking around.
"Hinata I thought you said it was clear this way" Kiba complained.
"My byokugan can not see through everything Kiba-kun" I shot back defensively, yet I felt guilty. The ground continued to quake and crack and then a large hole opened infront of us.
Yumi:
"Get back!" I yelled. Something was moving.... beneath us maybe? Something was underground. We jumped back just in time as a beast came spinning up right where we'd been a minute ago. It was a a giant lion. A sort of lion with two heads, one long, thrashing, fuzzy tail, and very large ears. Drool dripped from its massive jaws, and there were massive fangs as well. It's fur was quite spikey, like the legendary sanin Jiriya's hair. It was maybe fifteen feet tall.
"Oh shit" Kiba breathed. Shino stood tall, and motionless. His face held no expression, but I could sense his fear and tension. Akamaru snarled back at the beast.
"W-what are we going to do?" Hinata yelled above the snarling of the lion.
"We take it down. I think if we kill it, the barrier disapears with it" Shino suggested.
"Worth a shot" I agreed. I felt my claws lengthen and I focused on forming strong, blades around them made of chakra. The lion snarled louder and then lunged. As it jumped it spun round like Kiba and Akamaru's Passing Fang Jutsu. I jumped high above and landed in a tall tree as did the others. The land, and trees were a mess from its attack. There was now a seven foot t trench, and all the trees had either fallen or were bent at 45* degree angles now. It's size, chakra, and power was off the charts. There was buzzing mass of insects that began to circle around the lion. I prepared myself to attack.
"Tsuga!" Kiba snarled as he and Akamaru spun towards it with fang passing fang. The beast whirled around, it's tail hitting them both. It quite spinning just as I lunged for it with my chakra scalpel claws jutsu. All of the sudden I recieved a hard shock. It had smacked me with one of its massive paws sending me flying backwards high into the air.
"Yumi!" Hinata cried out. I was flying to high and fast for Shino's bugs to save me. In the back of my mind I heard a furious hiss. It didn't belong to the Matatabi, the tailed beast, but something. Someone else.
"Striking shadow snake, my little snake princess" the voice in my mind hissed. I made a few quick handsigns, "Striking shadow snake!" I said. Snakes shot out of my still-torn sleeve and latched onto a tree. I swung around and back to the tree. I landed on a thick tree branch, on my feet kneeling down and panting for air. 'I'm alive' I thought.
"Yumi, stay alert!" Shino reminded me. I nodded my head and focused all my attention on the snarling beast. Fifteen feet tall and it had so much incredible power! Again that voice in the back of my mind was there, whispering little idea's into my mind. Somehow I just wanted to follow the voices tips.
I slapped my now bleeding hand on the ground. Black lines and a circle spread out from me. All of sudden there was a puff of smoke and I felt like I was standing at a higher elevation. The smoke cleared and I know sat on top of a 10 ft tal snake that had winded its self around the tree branch.
"I am Kogo" said the great blue snake. It lifted its head and looked from me to the large two-headed lion, and it hissed.
"I see you need assistance my snake princess" it hissed and began to slither down the tree. I kept some of my chakra down in my feet to keep from falling off the snake going down at a vertical angle. Now we were on the ground facing the snake. Hinata, Shino, and Kiba hopped down beside me.
"Nice summoning, where'd you learn that?" Kiba asked.
"Training" I blurted out quickly. 'No I leared about it from the voice in my head' I thought, yeah I'm just going to say that. Psshh they'll think I'm psyco then! My body was feeling much stronger, even after being flung into the air by a lions giant paw. It was as if some new energy were flowing through me.
The large snake I stood on hissed,
"You are a natural born usuer of the White Snake Sage Mode"
"What?" I question.
"Can you understand snakes?" Kiba asked curiously. I answered him quickly,
"Shut up Kiba" I snapped at him. He muttered something bitterly to himeself.
"White Snake Sage mode is like the sage-art used by the legendary sanin, Jiriya. Not only can toads use the art, but also snakes and other creatures. I nodded in understanding. 'So that's what this power was. The lion was pacing about, as if plotting its next move to hopefully devouring us.
"Allright, perhaps if we attack as one we can take this beast down" Kiba suggested. Akamaru barked in agreement.
"Not a bad idea" Shino aggreed. We crouched down into our fighting stance. At that momment the lion snarled loudly and charged head on towards us.
"Show time" I muttered under my breath.
