Jasmine
Inexcusably bright lights, the overwhelming smell of sterile cleaning products and the low buzzing of electronic machines all assault my senses at once my nose burns with the horrible chemical smell and my head feels as light as a feather and heavy as a rock all at once, I imagine if I was some stupid cartoon small and colourful birds would be flying around my head.
My eyes feel as though they are glued closed and nothing I do will open them and there is no way I can move my head or arms everything just feels too tired.
The sound of distant muffled voices claim my attention but I don't know where to place them.
"I don't know Lou, until James Awakens we can not know for sure, it was a fanger attack, James was badly injured but Jasmine the human was the only one bitten, no one know if James turned her or not but they do not expect her to wake up." the voice says and before another can speak a groan of pain is hurt across the room.
"nnngggghhhhh." the all too familiar voice groans in the distance and my heart skips a beat but I don't know why I felt as though I was stuck at the bottom of a very deep hole. No way to get out but as soon as I heard that man groan I suddenly began to climb, something inside me that was not there before began to propel me on my climb to escape. The only thing I knew for certain was I needed to be near this stranger.
"nnnghhhhh." the voice croaked again unable to speak any words.
"here son drink." a dominant voice calls and I hear water being sipped, the next thing I hear is like heaven to my ears.
"Jasmine?" the man says sweetly.
MINE! MINE! My brain shouts but why? He is mine? He is called........
"no James I'm sorry she is not looking good, she was bitten, son."
something clicks within my head and I suddenly realise the voice is James! My James! My mate! I need to be closer to him.
James is awake and the room is far too bright as I manage to struggle over the precipice and open my eyes blinking in the stark white room, I take in the bed I am laid in and I have bandages all over my leg and around my head too with a small medical plaster over my left side. There was a needle in my left arm and three Iv Drips in my right arm I can not sit up because my body is too heavy but I summon strength from somewhere inside to croak broken words from my very dry sore throat.
"J...James. James!" my lips feel dry and cracked as my mouth forms the words, I manage to move my arm slightly and grasp for my James, a small soft hand catches mine gently.
"James, Lou Its Jasmine! She is awake!" the voice I can now place as Betty says excitedly.
"Nurse! Doctor!" Lou Yells in his commanding voice and within seconds at least four sets of footsteps rush towards us. They freeze at the ends of the bed when Betty raises her hands and stops them.
"We were so worried and thank god you are ok but our doctor needs to run some tests on you, your eyes are normal but not many people can say they survived a vampire attack and we still don't know if you are a wolf so how do you feel? Tell us every detail they could all be important. Betty said in the calmest tone I think she could muster, James looks like he wanted to say something but changed his mind at the last second. he struggled to sit up on the bed and watches on silently.
"urm... my body feels heavy, everyone seems to be moving too fast, my vision keeps zooming in and out, and my head feels.... Wrong? Fuzzy? Like I'm underwater? I I don't know I don't feel good, I think I'm gonna......." I groan as a pan is handed to me and what I thought would be the contents of my stomach return except its not I'm horrified to see that I am throwing up blood, Bettys' face pales as she looks at me and then the bowl and then me, I smile as it reminds me of the times in the last few months I had thrown up, the first time I was training with Tom and he thought he overexerted me, the second time I had eaten my food too quickly and the third it was after-effects of something James and I had done the night before or nerves from something. Honestly, it amazed me how my sickness had been overlooked thinking back about it. OH MY GOD, HOW DID I FORGET IM PREGNANT!
