I felt the ripple course through my veins, I felt his hands on her I felt him enter her but when he finished in her I felt his body respond with pain, I felt him screaming and crying and begging for the pain to stop, I am pretty sure he hurt her too. I didn't need a pack link to know they would want me to go find out what was happening. slipping through the shadows was quick and silent, I slipped right past guards and buildings, if vampires so chose to invade this pack the pack are weak, I knew that now but I don't know if I want to help them with that right now. I followed my instincts which led me directly to him although I would be lying if I said it did not stab me in the heart to learn he had sex with her in our bed,

"what the fuck?" I ask knowing I am naked and covered in mud watching the white-haired one trying to half carry half drag him across the living room to the lift.

"help him please, we... he..." she stumbles clearly not willing to tell the scary red-eyed woman I am standing before him that they just had sex

"he collapsed in pain?" I ask and I take in her scent but I have been honing my skills while I have been gone and for the first time I can smell the dangerous scent is not her scent but the scent of someone she has been around, not someone I met but I recognise that scent from other wolves too. She nods but falls to one knee and I realise she must be in pain too.

"put him on the sofa and let me look at you," I say not wanting to touch him.

"I am fine but if I let go of him his pain will get worse, I think he's.." her words pause her eyes going wide and I realise she is using her abilities as a healer, possibly a fated Omega to keep him alive.

"he's dying?" I ask taking him in, his pale clammy skin, his lips looking cracked, hell he even seemed to have lost weight in a few days.

"he broke your bond." Lous' voice says from behind me and it takes me a moment not to swing around and bite his throat out.

"you did this?" I ask already knowing the answer.

"I thought the bond was already broken when you became a vampire and drew his blood, you can't hurt a mate, I didn't think you were still bonded, I didn't think there was any way, if he had bitten her during the mating they would both be dead and it would be all my fault," Lou says falling to his knees and betty appearing from nowhere to collect him from the floor.

"This was not your fault, you were not to know but you know what has to be done to save him," she says quietly to Lou clearly not knowing my hearing is better than it used to be.

"what do I need to do?" I ask betty knowing that somehow it would come down to me.

"you need to re-establish the mate bond."

"with sex and bite? Don't you think we are a little past that point by now?"

"you don't need to love him, you don't even need to like him but our son will die unless you claim him again as your mate since he is the one who broke the bond."

"Perhaps you should have thought about that before he stuck his dick in anything," I say feeling every bit as heartless as I sounded but then I looked up and saw the tiny blonde keeping my idiot mate alive while she was bleeding and most likely traumatised.

"Please, you are the only person in the whole world that can save him," Betty says placing her warm hand on my arm.

"you realise my blood is safe for him but his blood could kill me, what makes your sons' life more valued than mine?" I direct my question to Lou who struggles to meet my eyes.

"to show you are not the monster I thought you were, I can not condemn you a monster if you save my son." Lou finally says with a pause.

"if I save his life it will not be to prove my innocence to you," I say before turning my back on him and looking back at the small white wolf

"are you alright?" I ask, she had dried tears down her cheeks her hair was a mess and she had blood on her legs, she seemed somewhat shaken and timid it did not take an idiot to know she was scared of me but I was not going to be any threat to her while she is keeping my mate alive.

"I will be fine, please save him." for some reason her plea over everyone elses' seems to snap my brain back into place.

"James? James wake up." I say lifting his chin and seeing his eyes focus on me

"jasmine?" he asks confused and dazed.

"Can you hold him while I do this?" I ask the little white wolf and she nods, I know what she is feeling from him right now will not be good and I can't imagine it's good feeling someone elses' emotions while they have sex will be pleasant either but I need her to keep him stable.

"I want to make sure everyone in this room knows I am doing this because I love him and not because anyone asked me and it does not change anything that happened before today either." I don't hear them reply but I phase everyone out except James and the white wolf who I promise to learn the name of when I am finished here.

"James? James, can you hear me?" I ask, he is limp and pale but he manages to raise his head and croak my name, for the first time while I have been in this room my heart begins to ache for him.

"you are strong to do this, do not be afraid of emotion it is what makes you and your mate strong," my inner voice says and I take in the word mate for a moment.

"I am going to mate with you, would you like that?" I know right now he probably realises It will be to save his life but I want to hear it from him first.

"yes Jasmine please." he gasps blindly grabbing to pull me closer

"okay just stay still okay? I don't want to hurt you!"
