Give me fire, I'll give you water,
Give me toast, I'll give you butter,
Compliments and contradictions,
Nonfiction, do you hear my diction,
Fissures in tissues from passing tears through them,
They just came around smiling, who dem?
The story's a little confusing, I know,
Life is a string on vignettes threaded together with gold,
I got my thread appraised and praise God they told me theres MAD value in the fold,
I didn't understand, he smiled at me and told me it'd already been told,
I guess someone has to also make it hard for me to follow too, right?
Lately its been hard to write, because when theres no light you can't see your pen glide over paper that well,
It knocks around outside the margins,
Like marginalized kids outside their neighborhood's borders, inside a border, and another which is inside another,
Generations of municipal mothers,
But no one wants anyone else to cross the matriarch incepting the municipalities of an almight apple tree,
Turn on the channel to A&E and watch everyone bite from the fruits of divine labor during selective isolated meet and greets,
Im looking a the TV like damn,
"Life is a series of vignettes threaded together with gold."
