mackenzie woke up to the ding her phone made. she got a message from zane. "can i see you on monday :)" it read. she was excited as she knew what was going to happen. but felt something holding her back.

nadia soon woke up and joined mackenzie to eat breakfast. "what?" nadia asked her. "what?" mackenzie was confused. "i know when something is wrong." kenzie sighed and played with her cereal. "that's the thing, i don't know the problem." she says and stuff a spoon full of cereal into her mouth.

nadia looks at johnny's door, and was sure that he was asleep. "it's your feelings for johnny." she says, casually. "what?" mackenzie shot up in shock at the comment that came out of nadia's mouth. "do you remember new years?" mackenzie shook her head no in response.

nadia proceeded to explain that when mackenzie told zane that she'd love to be his girlfriend, she saw a disappointment johnny. guilty, she just turned around and watched the fireworks with zane and her friends. johnny grabbed zoe's hand and led her into the summerall's guest bedroom. after a minute, mackenzie wanted to talk to johnny to make sure that they were okay. she walked into the house calling for johnny, and she opened a door to see zoe without her shirt, on top of johnny.

embarrassed, she shut the door, constantly apologizing. feeling a variety of emotions, she joined her friends in the kitchen and helped herself with a drink. in fact, more than just one. nadia texted melissa that mackenzie was going to be sleeping over, and took a drunk kenzie home.

"you know what?" nadia laid her best friend into her bed, "what, kenz?" she chuckles. "i don't need johnny. i have zane! he can have all the sex he can with zoe! i don't give a fuck!" kenzie slurrs, and nadia laughs. an overly confident kenzie turned into a sobbing one. "but i miss him, nadia. i wish he can just move on from what happened months ago! he was being so unreasonable!"

nadia lies next to mackenzie. "do you still like him?" she asks. kenzie hesitates before answering "i love him, nadia." she sighs, and suddenly falls asleep. the girl didn't remember any of that, not even what happened after zane asked her out. but nadia did.

after nadia recapped everything to kenzie, she was in shocked. she never admitted to herself that she loves john, and not just as a friend. "i- i don't have feelings for johnny. not anymore. i really really like zane. and i really want to go to the dance with zane." kenzie shook her head, trying to convince herself that she doesn't want to be with johnny.

"if you say so." nadia shifts in her chair before eating the rest of her cereal. what they both didn't know was that johnny was awake. he heard everything, even from upstairs. he becomes sad at first but all those emotions turned into anger. the same anger he had a few months ago.

he open the door and jogged downstairs. "hey john." kenzie smiles as she watches him get a bowl of cereal. ignoring her, he took his breakfast up to his room. "john?" kenzie stands from her seat. "what kenz? do you need me? i thought you said you didn't. or am i being unreasonable?" he said, angrily, but before kenzie could answer, he ran to his room and slammed the door shut.

kenzie fell into her seat, "not again."
