"Kid... you okay?" Tony's voice rang out, a little in concern as he gazed at Peter. Tony was leading Peter to his plane to go to Germany, to fight. Peter was excited as he would be fighting with the avengers. Of course, he would also be fighting some, but it didn't matter to him.Tony chose to mentor him.
He took a chance on him.
He saw potential in a little neighborhood Spider-Man.
So Peter was ecstatic.
Until he realized that they would be taking a plane. Peter never rode in a plane. He told himself he would never. His parents died in a plane crash. He didn't have much memory of them. He remembered small moments. Like hugs from his father, his mothers smiled. The funeral, a 4 year old him in tears. Every year his memory diminished of them more.
Just being here now... made him uneasy. He thought about the last time his parents were here. Probably going on a peaceful trip too. But everything went wrong. They never even made it to their destination.
What if something happened to this plane? Could Spider-Man even save them?
He wanted to trust Tony, but his nerves wouldn't let him. He just imagined the worse outcome.
He could just picture his parents dropping him off at aunt May.
"See you soon Peter"
So Peter was just staring at the plane in shock, unable to move.
"Huh..." Peters voice sounded faraway. He then snapped out of it, seeing a concerned Stark looking at him, a little weirdly.
"Oh! Yes Mister Stark I'm just... a little nervous about fighting the other avengers I guess..." Peter lied. Peter was really actually excited but no way would he let Tony know his troubles.
Tony would probably think he was being a little wimp. Super hero's aren't supposed to be scared of anything. Plus he was already young, Tony would definitely regret taking a chance on him. Peter could handle it, right?
Tony raised a brow but shrugged. "Cmon then... get your suitcase up here..." He said as he entered the plane.
Yes. Tony was serious. The suitcase literally only had his suit, and a laptop so Peter could do some homework. Peter took a deep breath, composing himself before going on the ship. He placed his suitcase on the seat in the back.
'I'll just sit in the back and put earbuds on. After all, it's not like Tony will actually talk to me...' Peter thought to himself.
The universe must have really been out to get Peter. As after the plane was closed, Tony spoke up from the front. "Hey, why don't you sit in the passenger seat next to me... Just... wear a seatbelt..." Tony called over to him.
Peter froze. 'Damnit...' But Peter couldn't refuse. "U-I... sure!" Peter forced a smile and walked slowly to the passenger seat and strapped himself in. His heart racing inside. He couldn't calm himself down either. His heartbeat was just too fast, but he tried to steady it as best as he could. He couldn't let Tony see his fear.
"Um... how far is Germany from here?" Peter asked as Tony put in the coordinates and started the engine.
"Bout 6 hours... would be 8 but... I go a little bit faster..." Tony winked at Peter before the plane started moving down the highway.
Peter felt his heart drop as he sat on his hands so they didn't jerk. His fingers dug deep into the seat nervously.
The plane moved faster and faster and Peter squeezed his eyes shut.
