"Different story tonight... Right? Cause if someone dies that's on YOU"

Darkness surrounded Peter. It was pitch black. All he heard were voices... Voices from him.

Tony Stark.

Aka

His mentor.

Things that he had said to him through his life, the time he... knew him.

Then the darkness faded and Peter was standing on a field, a battlefield. Avengers were fighting but suddenly the fighting seized and everyone looked to the left, at Iron Man as he held the gauntlet.

It seemed that the whole world was on mute, silence.

Peter saw himself as Iron Man said three words that Peter would also remember.

"I am Iron Man."

Peter saw himself gasp and his mouth twisted into a shocked expression. At first he didn't know what was going to happen.

Then Iron Man calapsed. He looked to be frozen.

Peter ran over swiftly next to Pepper, kneeling down, seeing very quickly what was happening here. But he refused to believe it.

"If someone dies... that's on you..." Tony's voice echoed around the nightmare.

"Don't go Mr. Stark please..." Peters voice rang out, tears spilling down his face. "Please..." he begged and sobbed into Tony's chest.

Someone pulled him away from Tony. Peter didn't even care about who it was. He thrashed a little, trying to get out of his grip. But the person who held him had a grip on him, and tried to console him. But Peter couldn't even hear what he said, all he focused on was the dying man that a tearful Pepper was speaking to.

"Tony... you can rest now... You did it..."

Tony managed to give a small smile as he gazed at Pepper then Peter. Before than, not moving at all. Frozen. The arc reactor dying.

Peter cried. The image of Tony's death stayed in his mind. His senses felt like they were exploding from all the emotion, but he didn't care.

Tony was dead.

His mentor.

And he never even got a chance... to say goodbye.

"I'm sorry...Tony..." Peters voice rang out. The one time he didn't call Tony Mr. Stark... because he felt like he owed it to him to say his name once...

Peter woke up with a jump. His heartbeat was racing a mile a minute. Sweat beaded along his forehead. He felt sweaty all over from his nightmare.

He sat up and was hunched over the edge of his bed, trying to calm himself. 'Just a nightmare...' He told himself, though... just because it was a nightmare... didn't mean it wasn't true. It was.

Tony Stark really was dead. God did he wish it was all a Dream.

But if it was a dream... he couldn't wake up.

Sometimes he wished that he was trapped in the gauntlet. Least then... he wouldn't know that Tony was dead.

He wouldn't have to know at all.

And sometimes not knowing is better than knowing. Knowledge is an evil thing sometimes. It was about 5 in the morning, a Saturday. School ended yesterday from him.

But he knew he wasn't going back to sleep, so he started to get up.
