Logan ran for ages.

It feels like it's been hours.

But it's probably only been half of one.

I don't know where we are and I don't think Logan does either.

Trees tower over us and birds tweet loudly.

The only other noise is the soft pants escaping Logan's mouth.

"Lo, we should stop. You sound like you are about to pass out," I say.

"I'm fine," Logan breathes as he carried on running.

"We can stop, hun, we've probably travelled far enough now," I say.

"We haven't."

I sigh, "Logan Dean, put me down and take a break. We are fine here."

"Fine." Logan slows to a jog.

"Watch where you are going," Someone hisses after Logan almost bumps into him. The person continues to run off. How is he wearing a leather jacket in this heat? Hold on, a second-

"Remy?" I ask and the man stops and spins around.

"Oh, it's you guys." He turns back around and starts walking off.

"Wait," I call and Logan puts me down. I jog after him to catch up and Logan walks quickly behind me.

"Girl, what do you want?" He asks as we walk along side him. Well, I have to speed walk slightly, but my annoying lack of height is something I will complain about another day.

"To talk," I say.

"Then talk to your boyfriend," Remy replies.

"I need to talk to you," I try to walk in front of Remy but he just speeds around me and I sigh and turn around, "Please, Remy? Deceit turned up at the house and Virgil and Roman are trying to fight him off."

Remy stopped and tensed up, "He found you?"

I nod, tearing up, "He's at the bungalow. I'm scared. Please, help us."

Remy's voice is ice cold as he says, "No."

What? No? I- But- No?

"It's nothing personal, girl, I just don't want to be the one that dies because of Virgil's stupid decisions."

"Stupid decisions," I repeat under my breath. Is that all we are to Remy? Stupid decisions? Just mistakes?

"I'm going. See you around, or maybe not." Remy shrugs and continues to walk off.

"I can't believe it," I whisper swinging my legs back and forth over the cliff edge, "I hope everything's ok."

"I'm sure they are fine," Logan says sliding an arms around my waist. Watching the sun set over the ocean, I rest my head on Logan's shoulder. The sky is all yellows, pinks and reds and purples- it's beautiful. My tear stained face is starting to sting and my vision is still blury from tears. What if we die? What if they die? What if Deceit wins? He's going to win this game. The one with Virgil and the one with me. We don't stand a chance.

"What's wrong?" Logan asks.

"Nothing." Lie.

"Falsehood," Logan says and turns his body slightly to face me. He cups my cheek and hesitantly, gently kisses me, "I'll talk to Remy. He can probably help us."

"But he doesn't want to help us," I sigh placing my forehead on Logan's shoulder.

"Just, let me talk to him," Logan says standing up and holding his hands out for me to take. He pulls me to my feet then kisses my forehead, "Let's go and find Remy."

We walk back into the forest, holding hands. Occasionally a twig snaps underneath our feet, or we have to hop over a tree root but it's not too bad.

"Any idea where he might be?" I ask. I look up at Logan. He has a cute thinking face, with his lips slightly parted and frown-y eyebrows. Awe!

"He's this way," Logan says and we start walking in a different direction.

The terrain gets harder to walk on and find our way around as the trees get thicker and the forest gets darker. Night is beginning to fall on us and I can barely see a foot in front of my face.

After what feels like an hour there's a cabin. A little log cabin. Awe. The lights are on in the windows and a silhouette is on the porch.

"Remy," I whisper. He looks up at us as we get closer and I can literally hear him rolling his eyes. There's a cigarette between his fingers and was leaning on the fence of the front porch. Smoke trails into the air from his mouth.

"What the fuck do you want?" He raises an eyebrow and takes another puff of his cancer stick.

"Remy, let's talk." Logan waves his hand in front of his face to get rid of some of the smoke the vampire blew at him.

"Nope." Remy drops the butt of his cigarette onto the damp soil and then walks into the cabin, leaving the door wide open. Logan and I look at each other before running in after him.

"I didn't know you smoked?" I say as Remy sits in an arm chair.

"I did when I was younger, but I can't get a buzz from it anymore. It just helps with.. other cravings," Remy shrugs, "It's the same as why Virgil drinks."

"Look, Remy, I know this life is hard for you and you didn't want this, but we could really use your help," Logan says, "It would be really useful if you would-"

Remy laughs, "Girl, you think you know exactly what you are talking about, but here's the deal," Remy stands up and walks over to us, "You don't have a clue. You don't know what you are talking about and you should just quit."

Logan grips his fist tightly and scowls behind his glasses.

"We aren't gonna quit though. My best friends are fighting off a murderer, and I'm not gonna let them die tonight," I say, "Whether I have to help on my own or you join us, it's your choice."

Remy scowls down at me and I gulp slightly but try not to show the fear in my face.

"I'll think about it," He turns away from us and walks through a door, "I trust you're capable of seeing yourself out? Or do you need help with that too?"
