"I'm really nervous," Virgil says tucking his purple shirt into his black tux trousers.
"You'll be fine, stormy," I smile and wrapping my arms around his waist, I give him a kiss on my cheek. He smiles and leans his head back on my shoulder.
"What time will your dad be here?" He asks.
"I think he said around seven so in twenty minutes."
"Ok, ok." Virgil pulls away and walks around the room spinning his wedding ring around his finger.
"Just remember that grounding technique Logan showed you."
I watch Virgil sit on our bed and work on his breathing. As I do up the top buttons of my shirt, Virgil looks up at me.
"Your dad's here." Virgil stands up and we walk down stairs, well I run, but still. I throw the door open and I'm faced with my Dad holding a bottle of champagne.
"Roman?" He asks.
"Dad," I whisper under my breath. He smiles and hugs me. I hug him back tightly. I can't believe he's here. Oh my God! We stay in the embrace for a while.
"How have you been?" Dad asks pulling away.
"Good, I've been good. How about you?" I ask, stepping out of the way so that he can come in.
"Not too bad." He steps in the house and looks at Virgil, "Eric Smith, Roman's dad."
"Virgil Sanders, Roman's husband." Virgil nods and shakes dad's hand, "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too," He smiles and then nudges me, "See, I told you you'd find him."
I smile at Virgil who smiles back, "Yeah, you did."
"I'm gonna make a start on dinner," Virgil says, "Do you want anything to drink? We've got wine, champagne, beer, tea, coffee, juice... Probably some other stuff that I can't remember..."
"Can I have a glass of wine, please, mate?" Dad asks.
"Yeah, white or red?" Virgil asks walking into the kitchen.
"White's good."
"I'll have the same, love," I say and Virgil nods going into the kitchen whilst I lead Dad to the Living room.
"He seems nice?" Dad says as we sit down. He lets his wings show and they're the same colour as mine! Nice!
"He is, he's actually a lot sweeter than people think he might be." I smile thinking about Virgil.
"Well, people judge vampires quite harshly because of stories. I mean some of them are like that, but that's a very small portion of them," Dad explains.
I nod then Virgil brings into two glasses of white wine. We thank him then Virgil goes back to the kitchen.
After dinner, which was delicious, I did not realise Virgil could cook that well, we spend a get more hours talking and playing board games. Dad calls a cab at twelve-ish and we keep talking until it gets here.
"That's the cab," Dad says when his phone rings. We walk to the door and Dad hugs me, "We'll talk tomorrow, son, I promise."
"Ok," I smile hugging him.
Dad pulls back after a minute and shakes Virgil's hand, "It was a pleasure meeting you, Virgil."
"Same to you," Virgil nods.
"Take care if my son, will you?" Dad smiles.
"I take care of him." I frown.
"Oh, sure you do, Princey." Virgil raises an eyebrow.
"Hey! You almost died for me once, that is way more than enough." I put my arm around his shoulder and he puts his head on my shoulder.
Dad laughs, "Should I ask?"
"You should not," Virgil says.
"Then I'll see you guys tomorrow," Dad says hugging me one last time before he walks to his cab.
~~
"Virge?" I whisper. He just groans, "Stormy? Love? Sweetie?Sunshine? Moonlight? Cupcake? My chemically imbalanced romance? Panic! at the everywhere?Virgil!"
"What?" He asks angrily.
"Wake up."
"No," He rolls over.
I sigh and straddle his back then lean down and kiss his neck.
"Fine, I'll get up," Virgil mutters and I smirk into his neck then get off him. I walk into the bathroom and when I walk back in, Virgil's asleep again.
"C'mon, negative Nancy," I say picking Virgil up whilst he was still hugging a pillow.
"Get off," Virgil mumbled.
"We have an appointment at the orphanage in an hour and it takes half an hour to get there, wake your ass up," I say carrying Virgil downstairs.
"Lemme get dressed then," Virgil says scrambling out of my arms and running back upstairs. I laugh and make Virgil a coffee and a tea for myself.
When we are dressed we get in the car and Virgil starts driving to the orphanage.
"Are you excited?" Virgil asks.
"Of course! We're gonna be dads!" I squeal.
"It will be great," Virgil agrees.
We drive for a while then pull up outside a nice looking building. Virgil takes a deep breath and I take his hand, It's quiet uptown- Not the time for Hamilton!
"We'll be fine," I smile kissing his hand gently.
He nods, "Let's do this."
We walk to the door and a man lets us in. He shows us around and then takes us to a room with around 16 kids of all ages, ranging from tiny little babies to teenagers. As we walk in Virgil looks up looking kind of confused.
"Are you looking for a certain age or gender?" The man asks.
"I think we were looking for about 4 to 7?" I ask looking at Virgil who nods.
"Yeah we have 3 kids in that range," He says and brings out three files. He lays them in front of us and Virgil and I pick up one each.
The one I've got is a little girl who's 5 years old. She's called Jenny and has been here for-
"Holy shit," Virgil breathes staring at the file he's holding. I look over his shoulder at the file and see it.
"Do you wanna see-" I ask and Virgil nods. I hand the file to the man again, "Can we meet him please,"
"Of course," The man walks out.
"Was that- That was- I'm sorry," Virgil mumbles burying his face into his hands.
"It's ok, love, its ok," I rub his back. Virgil picks up the file and opens it again. We are immediately met with the electric purple eyes of Remy Young.
"It-it's him," Virgil smiles at the picture, "He's alive again."
