Lie to me and I'll make you regret it

"Yaw-, ack. Bleh, what the hell?" I wake up to find cat fluff in my mouth. I try sitting on my bed and find myself struggling to get up. Feeling some weight on my stomach, I notice Mr. Snuggles resting on me. "You, you're back?"

"Meow," The cat answered. I try my best to move him off me, then start to get ready for school.

"Grumble," My stomach began making noises. I take my bag and head downstairs. I get a little surprise from mom, as she shows some of my childhood videos to Henry.

"Aww, Richard look, Lacey just had her first kiss!" The video showed me kissing a little boy when I was three.

"Haha," Henry laughed back,

"Mom! Why'd you have to show this video from all the other options?" I rant,

"Oh, good morning child. Don't complain now, we have a guest here." She gestures to Henry,

"Why's Henry here?"

"Now that's a rude way to talk," Mom points out. "I invited him in because he was waiting for you. I thought he and I could have a proper chat since I have been behaving rather poorly to him."

"Of course you did. Come on, Henry, let's go," I begin storming out.

"Wait, aren't you going to eat breakfast?" Mom asks,

"No," I grab a granola bar and head out with Henry. We walk together quietly for a bit then Henry asks,

"So... Who's the boy you kissed?"

I stop all of a sudden, and look to Henry with an agitated face. I didn't want to tell him because it was quite embarrassing, but I still did.

"His name is Jess. He was my boyfriend at one point, but we broke up after things got uncomfortable. We were in fifth grade back then." We start walking again.

"Wow, you had a boyfriend in fifth grade, yet you still have problems with crushing on people."

"Henry!" I elbow him.

"Haha," We laughed as we arrived at school.

"So, what's your revolutionary plan?" Henry asks,

"Well, my mom's leaving on Friday for a three-day business trip. So I was thinking, that-"

"I'm gonna stop you right there." Henry puts his finger on my lip. "Don't mean to be prude, but what you're saying just sounds...wrong."

"EW!" I smack his arm away. "If you'd let me FINISH, IT WOULDN'T SOUND LIKE THAT!" I yell,

I look around and notice people staring at us. "Ugh," I rolled my eyes, "What I was TRYING to say is that we should try to find out what in the mysterious room that my mom is hiding. She'll be gone and would have to pass the keys to the entire house to me! With that, I could find out what she's concealing from me. What could be hidden in such a room that I can't know about? Well, that doesn't matter anymore, she is going to regret not telling me in the first place."

"Lacey, you're getting too indecisive about this. Are you sure you know what you're doing? What if there's something dangerous or stuff worse? For all we know, she might be just protecting you."

"Hey, I'm rebellious enough to make people regret things. That's why I'm sometimes socially awkward. So tell me, are you in or out?"

Henry stands there quietly and doesn't respond. The bell starts ringing, and everyone began heading inside. I abandon Henry but he grabs my arm and says,

"Okay, I'm in,"

"Then meet me at the front when school ends, and we'll chat then." We head to our classes.
