Its the first day. Should I be nervous? Nah, let's just go home.

I look at the students as they all rush to their friends.

"Let's just go home," I say,

"Woah, stop right there child," Mom grabs my shirt.

"I don't want to be here, mom. Can we just leave?" I turn to her.

"Look, I have to get to my new job in a few minutes so I don't have time for you lollygagging."

"Don't worry, Mrs. Adams. I'll take her away now." Henry grabs my shoulders from behind.

"Oh look, Lacey, your boyfriend is here," Mom says miserably,

"H-he's not my boyfriend! He's just an acquaintance." I shout. I look over to Henry and see him look down for some reason.

"Well, enjoy school. Hopefully, I won't get any complaints from the principal this time." Mom mumbles. I roll my eyes as she leaves.

"Come on, let's go find our class," Henry says as the bell rings. We walk down a large hallway and into the foyer. The foyer has all the class lists of every class in the school organized by grade. I walk up to the grade 7 lists and notice my name. "Lacey Addams: Class 7/8 : Teacher: Mr. Summers."

I look around to see what class Henry is in but I can't find his name. Unhappy, I look to see who are the 8s joining our class. I notice that all the girls seemed to have been written first then the boys. I scroll down the page and notice Henry's name clearer than crystal. I look around to find Henry when I bump into another kid.

"Ugh, watch where you're going shorty," The kid yelled. Does he not realize I'm taller than him?

"Mike, stop it. Apologize to this girl and go back to your class." Another guy comes from a crowd. But this guy is much taller and hotter. "Sorry about my brother. He can be an idiot sometimes."

"I-it's ok," (Me legit not knowing how to talk to hot guys)

"I'm Ethan Ryder, what about you?"

"I-im Lacey Addams."

"Wait. Hold up, are you the one that moved into the haunted house?"

"Yes?" I say nervously. He looked up and noticed the people around. At the moment I was scared because I didn't know what was going on. Then suddenly, Ethan slowly comes closer to my face. He goes to my ear and says, "That's wicked awesome, you should invite me some time. Let's be friends, okay?" then moves away.

I stand there blushing to an extent and say "O-kay." He smiles at me then starts to leave.

"Wait!" I shout. Ethan turns around to look at me. "Could, could you not tell the others about my, erm, house?"

"Sure!" He smiles making me blush again and leaves. I watch him walk away like a creep.

"Looks like someones developed a crush," Henry scares me from behind.

"Ugh, shut up!" I elbow him, "You have got to stop doing that."

"Haha," He grins. I don't why, but his smile makes me smile.

"So when were you going to tell me that you're an Eight, not a Seven?"

"Oh did I not tell you? This is my last year."

"I see... Anyway, let's go to class, before we're late, haha,"

"Sure,"

I walk down the hallway noticing that people are staring at me. I feel too awkward, so I don't look. As we reach our class, I ask Henry, "Why is everyone looking at me?" Henry stops, turns to look at me and says, " Well, it could be that you talked to the most popular boy at school or that they found out you live in a haunted house."

"So much for keeping it as a secret," I mumble,

"It's also possible that they're looking at you because you're pretty," He smirks,

"Oh please," I roll my eyes while blushing inside.

"I'm serious though,"

"Whatever!" I yell.

We arrive in class, exactly on time, and Mr. Summers introduces the new students. We do little interactive activities like fourth graders, then head into math. We go to our regularly scheduled classes, and the day ends well, or I thought it went well. I lied, it didn't go well... for me.
