Pounding headache and nausea greeted me when I woke up. Its intensity leaving me to groan in pain. The sensation was all too familiar with a hangover.

My side ached from laying on something hard as a thin cloth registers in my touch. Cold air kisses my skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps down my exposed arm. Distant sounds of flowing water registers in my ear, along with birds flying in a distance. The murky surface of rocks made my nose cringe in return.

I pried the tiredness away from my eyes. Flinching at the burning light that made me blink a few times to adjust. Twigs and leaves of the forest ground were the first thing that registered in my eyes. Followed by the towering trees that blocked the burning rays of the sun.

I laid on a thin cloth, worn out and torn over time. A pile of burnt logs laid a few feet away. It must've been only minutes before it burned out with fresh smoke still coming out.

I felt exhausted, completely worn out that my body ached when I tried to sit up. It's when I noticed both hands were bandaged from the knuckles up. I felt no pain. Only a dull ache, but I could see dried blood seeping above the knuckles.

Bits and pieces of memory flashes in my mind. Everything beyond the cafeteria were a blur, making me wonder how I woke up in the middle of the forest. I knew I was somewhere too deep in the woods to be even close to town. I tried to get a sense of the place and focused on my hearing.

Everything was lifeless for miles. A deadly silence coated the forest, making the sound of two heart beats feel like two banging drums against my ears. My own- and the other who was three feet behind of me.

A gasp escaped my lips as I stand. Stumbling on the way with the utmost gracelessness that nearly sent me falling back into the ground. A wave of dizziness makes my feet wobble, but I managed to stand my ground enough to see whose heart it belonged to.

Half of his body were covered in shadows, revealing only a pair of legs covered in old jeans that's been ripped into shorts. He didn't move, and if it weren't for the steady beating in his chest. He could've passed as a statue.

"W-Who are you?" My throat was hoarse, even weak. It didn't possess the tone of strength and authority.

Upon hearing my voice his eyes snapped open, making me jump back at the sight of two golden eyes that glowed beyond the shadows. My breath halted at the sight. They were magnificent, and even in a distance I could see the way they glazed in the dark. He stared at me with a hooded gaze, intensity, power, dominance. They demanded it all in his eyes.

It felt like looking in a mirror. It was both as haunting as it was beautiful.

He moved like a predator moving out of the shadows. Eyeing me, studying me like a prey. When light shined upon his figure, it took my breath away.

His body was extremely muscular, but the curves of his muscles perfectly complimented his gigantic structure. Despite the harsh edges of his muscular built, he was still lean. I took in every inch of his shirtless body without shame. Studying every firm line, every hard edges of a body sculpted like a God himself.

He was the walking example of intimidation, one that left me shaken to my resolve. Dominance reeked of him like a second skin. Making the air around him spike with an intensity so thick it was nearly unbearable to be even near him.
