There is an evil inside every angel, the way there's a beast inside every man.

A golden pool reflected in my eyes as I stared in the mirror. Revealing a certain shine, a glow, a sparkle whenever light struck its color, making it magical to watch up close. Straight, brown roots of hair faded to a wavy, golden curls down my back. They were thick and full of life, matching that of my plump, pink lips.

I wore a simple black jeans and white top. Finishing off with a black trench coat and white sneakers. I gathered enough supplies into my bag for school just in time as Kallie's scent neared my door.

"You ready yet?" She called after a knock.

"Yeah, I'll be down in a minute." I placed my phone into my pocket and gathered my things. I nearly forgot to wear my contacts before I left the room. I checked myself in the mirror for the last time. Checking each section of my body to make sure I looked human enough. It wasn't much, but it took the beastly touch away.

I met everyone in the dining room where I found Kallie and Aria already eating breakfast.

"Good morning!" Kallie greets cheerfully. Her body language suggesting that she was a lot more comfortable than before. It gave me a bit of ease.

"Morning," I greeted back. Aria sat stoically and ate her meal in silence. I was able to catch a small glance my way, which was more than enough for a greeting. I wasn't used to her being so... gloomy, so blank.

"G'morning children, I hope you had enough rest." Aunt Vivian comes out of the kitchen and served plates of eggs and bacon for everyone.

"I've spoken with the school principal to get everything settled for the both of you. Though you might need to catch up since you're enrolling in the middle of the school year, I'm sure you'll be fine." I only gave a nod. School wasn't an issue for me, it was the people I had to worry about.

Kallie's words replayed in my head, knowing that I'd have all the attention on me. I was worried. What if I slipped? What if I lose control? Self restraint wasn't the best at the moment and I'm afraid that a nudge, a push, or even a grip too strong would result to something worse.

"Don't worry, I'm a senior too so you don't have to worry about being lonely on the first day." Kallie chirped with a smile. I was grateful for her presence. I wouldn't have known how to survive the day with everyone's eyes drilling down my back.

"What about you Aria? What do you think? It's a new school, a new town. I'm sure you'll fit in just fine." All eyes turned to my sister. She hardly finished her meal halfway through and shrunk in her seat within our stare.

"Yeah, sure," We all managed to pick up her silent need for space. I couldn't stop the prick of pain in my heart at the sight.

"I'm headed for the city hall this morning so I can drop Aria off in her school. Why don't you two go ahead?" We gave her nod and finished our meal. I let Kallie go ahead to the car as I stayed back. I followed Aria's trail and found her packing a school bag in her room.

I couldn't bring myself to enter, not like I used to do. So I settled with a knock, the action felt so foreign to me. She turned towards the door and her eyes widened in surprise to see me standing by the doorway.
