I don't know which one I fear the most. Letting you in or letting the monsters out

I slept on the forest ground with my back against a tree with the head of a 200 pounds man on my lap, but then I woke up like I came from a deluxe bed of a 5 star hotel. I've been an extremely light sleeper since I changed and this must have been the first complete sleep ever since.
For once I was glad to have a deep sleep without having to suffer hearing crickets outside for miles and snoring on the other end of the house. I feel rejuvenated, so full of life that when I woke up. I couldn't stop the smile on my face.
It felt strange to smile again when I could hardly remember the last time I smiled like this before. My days flew with nothing but blanks, frowns, emotionless faces and for once I was happy to feel the pleasures of emotions again.
At least, just the positive ones for now.
I instantly sensed the lack of heat. My eyes snapped open and saw nothing but the makeshift blanket around me. It was easy to find him sitting in front of me with his back turned and facing the fire.
"G'morning," I mumbled. As memories of the night came rushing back, I stayed frozen to see what kind of reaction he might have had. My eyebrows narrowed when he didn't react or speak. He didn't even acknowledge me.
I couldn't stop the frown to replace my smile. Last night was something special, and deep inside I had hoped that it could alleviate the tension between us. We both can't deny that there's something between us. I can't just forget the fact that out of everyone and every creature I've come across.
He is the only one who can touch me.
He is the only one who can calm me.
He is the only one who can stop me.
He is the only one who can control me.
In return, it seems like I can too.
There has to be some reason, something we have in common. I need to know what binds me to him and it seems like the only way to find out is by getting his trust first.
For now, I settled it his way and just pretend it never happened.
X stood from his spot and turned towards me. His hard, impassive look already mounted on his face. He kneels on one leg and handed me a stick. The smell of a delicious, savory scent of well roasted meat attacks my nose, leaving me drooling at the sight of cooked meat mounted on a stick.
"Eat," His monotonous voice somewhat told and commanded at the same time. I didn't waste a second to take the food from him and helped myself. It's been days since my last good meal and this tasted so heavenly.
It was too good to bother myself on how he got them in the first place. I don't smell any fresh kills within a mile and he didn't have a trace of hunting on him either.
It takes me only minutes to devour the whole thing. Luckily, he was also too busy eating to witness my starving pig out.
"Come, I want to show you something." Curiosity sparks inside of me. I followed him closely as he leads me through the woods. Climbing higher and higher until I knew we were somewhere high up in a mountain.
