Chapter 26

Jace stared at the floor he tried to get closet yo her but thr shackles around his wrists wouldn't allow it. He tried to call her name but all he managed out was a croak. Sebastion made his way over to Clary and touched her for head. As soon as he did though Srbastion's breathing got harder and faster. He ripped open his chest and in the middle was a rune. The rune for bonding. Clary gasped and her eyes flew open and Sebastian collasped to the floor.

"How did you do that?" Clary didn't hear him she looked around wildly her eyes wide. When they landed on Jace her eyes grew even wider.

"Jace?" Clary gasped she ran over to the chains on the wall and patted herself down looking for something.

"Dammit" she muttered. She made her way to a writhing Sebastion and pulled out a stele from his pocket. She drew a rune on the shackles and they exploded. Jace didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her. Clary hugged him back.

"We gotta get out of here" clary said. She drew a portal on the wall beside them and jumped through leaving Sebastion behind them.

They landed on the floor of the library in the institute. Isabelle, Alec, Jocelyn, luke and Mayrse were there.

"Jace!" Isabelle screamed. She ran towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Hey Iz" Jace managed to croak out.

"Look at you your a mess let's go get you cleaned up."

"I'll take him" Clary said. Izzy sent her a warning glance.

"I don't think you should be here Clary.  I think you need to leave." Izzy left the room half supporting Jace with her arm around his waist. Clary turned to the rest of them.

"What was that about?" Clary asked them.

"Clary what in the angels name is wrong with you?" Clary looked at them with a confused face.

"Excuse me?" She said.

"First you kill Simon and then you drag Jace over to Sebation" Clary couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Simons dead?" They all sent her glances like they thought she was doing something wrong that she wasn't who she said she was.

"Ok Clary drop the act" Mayrse said Jocelyn had her head down and Alec's face was mutual. 

"We know everything we just don't know why you did it. " Mayrse let in a deep long sigh.

"I don't understand why you are attacking me I don't know what I've done!" Clary yelled at them she bolted for the door of the library and fled out, she didn't know where she was going until she turned into the infirmary. She saw Isabelle dabbing Jace's writs. They seemed to be covered in blood. Jace stared blankly at the wall ahead of him.

"Jace" jace was knocked from his day dream and turned to look at Clary as isabelle turned an unsatisfactory look at her.

"What are you doing here? " she demanded.

"Isabelle"Jace said in a warning tone. Izzy sent Jace an incredulous look.

"Are you forgetting that it was clary that sent you to that hole and it was Clary that killed Simon-" Clary interrupted her.

"So it's true then I did kill Simon."

"Yeah im afraid so you are so stupid Clary-"isabelle was interrupted again by Jace.

"Stop izzy. clary was linked to Sebastion by a bonding rune. Clary show her."clary lifted her shirt up to reveal a rune exactly like the rune jace had when he was under lilith's spell on her stomach. Isabelle shifted nervously in her chair.

"How did you break it?"

"I don't know" Clary was crying now. 

"Did I really kill him? Did I really kill Simon?" Jace noddeed. Clary cried harder. Giving in Isabelle got up and hugged Clary.

"Why don't I remember.?"

"I'm sorry Clary we don't have the answer to that."
