Chapter 37

Alec had to lead Jace to sit on one of the stairs. He still hasn't said anything he just stared out at nothing thinking. Jocelyn on the other hand wouldn't leave Clary's side sitting with her talking with her holding her hand. 

"How much longer does she have left?" Jocelyn asked.

"3 minuets." Lilith replied.

"Where is he!" Isabelle yelled out in frustration. At one point the guards let them all go. No even they could challenge Isabelle when she's angry.

"He'll be here it's not like getting mundane doctors is going to be easy" Lilith stated.

"It's Sebastion I think it should be easy enough" Isabelle retorted.  Alec didn't leave Jace's side scared something might happen to him. He couldn't bare losing another person tonight. He tried to act strong but deep down it hurt, it hurt so much. His heart ached everytime he thought of him the time they spent together the times they fought. He took deep and ragged breathes trying to calm himself down clenching and unclenching his fists like that seemed to help. Isabelle looked over as if she could sense that there was something wrong. She made her way over.

"Hey" She said taking a seat next to him. She didn't bother to ask if her was ok she knew the answer to that. So she tried to change the topic instead.

"Hows Jace holding up" She asked him.

"Been the same since it happened not talking staring off into space" Alec said back.

"Do you reckon he'll cope if she died" as soon as the sentence left Isabelle's mouth she wanted to bury herself in a hole.

"Of course he won't cope!" Alec shouted. "I'm not coping!"

"Alec I'm sorry I-"

"Please just don't"

Isabelle rose from the step and walked back over to the others.

Simon was standing just behind Jocelyn Isabelle came up behimd and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I don't know what I'd do if she left us" he started. 

"I know but she's not going to leave us Sebastion will get here in time."

"He won't we don't have long"

"How much longer?" Isabelle asked.

" a minute and thirty seconds" Lilith answered.

Isabelle could feel the sweat on Simon's back she could feel her own heart racing and banging against her chest it hurt to breathe.

"Come on Sebation where are you!" That was Tessa she was pacing back and forth in yhe far corner of the room holding her head between her hands as if that would change something. Clary mumbled helplessly looking paler by the minute. 

"Jace" she whisperd. "Jace"

"I'm here Clary, I'm here"

Darkness, there was so much darkness.  Clary didn't know if she coykd escape from it. If she wanted yo escape from it. The thought of seeing Jace again and her mother was what was keeping her will to hold on just that little bit longer. There was more negatives then postives though. Being condemned Clary couldn't leave, she was stuck here with that awful monster. She would have to sit buy him next to his 'throne', she would have to kill either Jace or Jocelyn and she couldn't, she wouldn't do that. They rest would be held here unable to go back to the world they love. Alec and Isabelld would never know if Mayrse made it or not.  Jocelyn would never be able to get back to Luke, Tessa woule never see her beloved Brother Zachariah though what was going on with them she had absolutely no idea. But then Jace would go back.  No one would be waiting for him Clary wouldn't be there to greet him or text him all her drama's. Simon would never get to tell her about his band. Either road she chose though there would be darkness in both of them. A mess she made herself. She had made her decision. She couldn't turn back now.

Sebastion suddenly walked through the wall followed by two men holding kits and wires and ropes of all sorts. He knelt down beside her and one medic started hooking her up.

"We've got to keep the air flow she doesn't have long" one of the men said. The machine that eas hooked to the pulse of her heart made a long beeo noise and the line went flat.

"We've got no beat!" The other man yelled.  Jace snapped back into focus as the men started doing CPR. He ran over to Clary moving Jocelyn and Simon out if the way.

"You can't leave me clary you can't leave me" tears were running down Jace's face furiously he didn't bother to wipe them off. The medics took a step back giving up.

"I'm truly sorry" a medic said.

"We were unabke to restart her heart. I'm extremly sorry"  The paramedics just stood there as Jace leaned over Clary's now dead body mourning for his loss. He cried harder the tears came faster. He couldn't breathe all the air wad sucked out from his lungs.  There he passed out on the marble floor stained with blood Clary's blood.
