One we got to his house we started filling up the balloons when the front door opened.

" Oh no. Our mom is home early." Malcolm said with fear in his eyes.

We heard footsteps coming close to the door and we all froze. The door opens and an older boy appeared.
Francis!!!! They all scream and tackled him and fell to the floor laughing.
"Who's this? " Francis asked looking at me
"Autumn this is our older brother, Francis," Malcolm says
"Hey Francis, we were just about to play water balloon baseball, it's a new thing Autumn made up. Do you wanna play?" Dewey asked
" Sure how do you do balloon baseball?"
So I explained it again, we finished the balloons and headed outside.
"Ok who's up first?" I ask
" Me,me,me,me!! Dewey chants
Reese pitched the egg to Dewey it got all over him. This went on until an old beat-up car rolled in the driveway. The door opened and an angry lady came out carrying groceries.

"What are you doing?!? You're a mess! And who is this?" She yelled. I turned my head to Malcolm, he has pure fear in his eyes. I know how to deal with people yelling. It happens to me all the time.
"My name is Autumn. I was hanging out with the boys and-do you need help carrying that? Do you have any more I could help you with?" I asked calmly

She looked at me confused and then said "Umm, yeah there's some in the front seat." I walked with her to the kitchen and helped her unload.
" Thank for helping me unload, I usually never get any help. I'm Lois by the way."
Once we were done I went back outside and for about 45 minutes after Lois walked out and asked if I could stay for dinner and I said yes.

When dinner was ready we all came in to eat.
(I forgot to mention Hal came home 15 minutes after Lois) We we're having mashed potatoes, peas, and ...it looks like chicken but I'm not sure. I hope it's chicken.
The dinner was silent until Lois spoke up " So Autumn tell me something about yourself."
"Well, I just moved from Canada a few weeks ago, I play guitar and I like to draw." "Wow interesting, maybe one time I could see your drawings."
" Sure!" I smile
The doorbell rang, Lois got up to get it. We were again eating in silence until...
"Mom what are you doing here?" I hear Lois almost yell
" I come here because I'm staying the night at a hotel nearby and I want some free food." a Russian accent says.
She comes and plops next to me. She looks at me "What happened to your face? It looks like a garbage truck ran over it twice. And you smell like it dumped its garbage on ya."
It's probably the eggs. But wow. She is the rudest old hag I have ever met.

"Why are you here?! Your gonna scare Autumn off." Malcolm said After that I stopped listening and blocked out their conversation. I look at the clock it read 8:36. Crap.

"I have to go now. My parents are gonna kill me if I stay later. It was nice meeting you." I grabbed my stuff almost out the door. "Wait." Malcolm.
" Would you like me to walk you home? It's dark outside and I don't want to be here any longer."

He walks me home in the dark. In a full moon. But it was freezing. He tossed me his jacket." Here you need it more than I do." "Thanks for everything. For the jacket, for my leg, and being my friend." We were at my doorstep. " No problem today would have been boring without you and-" He kisses me on the cheek "goodnight" he finishes. I walk to my room and plop down on my bed. Wow. He kissed me on the cheek. What a day.
