After an intensely boring day working at the office it was time to get the train back to my local station and start my evening shift at the coffee shop. I really enjoyed having two different jobs with two completely different atmospheres it just really intrigued me.
Ashton never got the train back that I get on, he must take the early or late one but I wasn't phased because luckily I had my headphones which were also known as my lifesavers.
I arrived at the coffee shop half an hour later and quickly tied my apron and started serving the customers. I wouldn't say the cafe was busy or really popular it was just the right amount in my opinion.
The bell rang which indicated someone had entered and to my surprise it was the boy that I have been waiting to talk to all day; Ashton. A smirk appeared on his face when he noticed me and I happened to repeat his action.
"Why hello Katie, what a surprise!" "Hello Ash" I smiled. "What would you like?" "Just a regular coffee, no sugar or anything though, thanks" "Coming right up".
Whilst preparing his beverage the bell rang again and an extremely pretty girl with long hair and a great fashion sense walked in and hugged Ashton. I couldn't ignore the strange wave of jealousy that washed over me, I need to stop over thinking.
I walked over to the table which Ashton and the girl were both now sitting at and placed his coffee down on the table without looking at any of them. "Katie" he called, I spun round on my heels and swiftly walked back "Yes?" "What's wrong?" "Nothing is wrong" "Well there clearly-" "No Ashton I'm fine, it's nothing for you to be worrying about anyway" I snapped.
Thankfully my shift was over, but the worst part was that Ashton and that girl haven't moved so sadly I'm going to have to ask them to leave. Exactly what I need. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, put on a fake smile and started walking over.
"I don't mean to interrupt but it's closing time but I'm going to have to ask you two to leave please" I said as I took Ashton's mug and wiped the table over. "That's fine" the girl smiled and they both stood up.
Ashton leaned in, his warm breath tickling my neck causing goosebumps to rise and whispered "It was very nice meeting you today Katie Louise" and brushed his hand against mine as he walked out of the coffee shop.
