The next day I woke up with a massive headache. Yesterday I somehow managed to walk all the way home which took me about an hour. I refused to get in a car with any of them. Today was the day when I was going to take a massive step backwards.

During the last few years that I spent at school I really got into photography. I then started to take photography classes in which I learnt all about the camera, how to take a perfect photograph and all sorts of things. I was ready and prepared to take my photography exam when everything just went.

Something just slipped. I don't know how and I don't know why but I just forgot everything on the day of my exams and then I failed. I am still devastated now and after staying up most of last night thinking about it, I've decided to quit my job and take on photography again.

I only did an interview for my shitty office job purely because of the wage. Which is true, the money is good but it's not about how much you get payed to do something- it's about how much you actually enjoy it and I really don't enjoy my job. When I first started I loved it and every single aspect about it but now I just long to get a camera and restart my photography hobby.

I got dressed in my usual work clothing and began walking to the train station. As it was a Monday morning the platform was swarming with people which made me feel extremely claustrophobic. The train finally arrived and I walked past my usual seat at the front and sat right at the back where Ashton usually sits.

I saw him step on and he looked straight at me, then where I usually sit, then back at me and furrowed his eyebrows as he did so. He walked down the middle of train and sat next to me but didn't say a word. "I'm sorry" I whispered. "I'm sorry too" he replied. We didn't speak for the rest of the ride, we just sat in a comfortable silence.

*half an hour later*

Finally, I arrived at work. I took at deep breath and began to walk in. The receptionist Clare was sitting at her desk drinking her vanilla latte as usual and I shot her a smile which she returned. I walked to my managers office and knocked on the door and waited patiently for it to open.

"Miss Hemmings, please come in" Mr Smith welcomed. Butterflies started flying around in my stomach as I walked into his massive open plan office, which had the most modern touches to it. I sat down in the chair in front of his desk and began speaking. "There's no easy way to say this..."

I took the biggest breath I've probably ever took to try and calm my nerves. " I quit." His face dropped "But why? You're one of my best employees!" he said in shock, which I could tell was fake. Of course I was 'one of his best employees'.

"I quit. This isn't the right career path for me and I've got to do what's best for me and not anyone else, I'm sorry" I said with a sad tone to try and not seem so excited about actually leaving. "Right well, I understand. You may clear your desk and leave" he said in a professional manner.

I stood up, left Mr Smith's office and walked over to my desk and picked up all of my belongings and organisers and put them into my bag. "Katie" Clare called whilst signalling me to go over. "Erm hi" I said whilst attempting to close my bag. "Where are you going?" she seemed concerned which was very unlikely, she was just nosey.

"I'm leaving to do something else as it isn't the right job for me" I smiled. "Good luck!" she said cheerfully. "Bye" I shouted as I walked out of the awfully hot building. It felt as if a massive weight had just been lifted off my shoulders. I'm glad that I don't have to work in a overheated office with stuck up and two faced people every single day.

As I had another three hours until my shift at the coffee shop started I decided to treat myself to a little shopping spree. I spent about two hours in town and bought way too much. The train wasn't busy at all so I managed to get home quicker therefore I went home and dropped of all of my bags at my apartment and then began walking to the coffee shop.

I reached my destination of the coffee shop and tied my apron. Then all I had to do was stand and wait for a customer to arrive. The bell above the door rang and I blue haired guy walked in. "Michael!" He smiled "Katie!" he replied. "Your hair it's amazing, I'm in love" I laughed. It was the brightest blue shade I've ever seen and it looked amazing on him, he suited all hair
colours.

"Thanks, I thought I'd try out blue as it is one of your favourite colours" I smiled as a response to his comment. "What can I get you?" "A black coffee and a long talk with my best friend" he said. "Coming right up". I made Michael's coffee and walked over to the table that he was sitting at and placed the coffee down.

I decided to sit down as both the street and the shop was deserted so I doubt anyone would be coming in. "What's happened in your world recently?" I asked Michael keen to know because it felt like we haven't spoke in ages even though in reality it's only been a week or so. "X-box, pizza, sleep, repeat" he said after taking a sip of his coffee. "No change there then" I smirked.

"What's happening in the amazing world of Katie Hemmings then?" he asked sarcastically. "Don't get sarcastic with me Michael Gordon Clifford" I teased. "Just tell me what you've been up to" he whined. He had no patience at all this boy. "Well I've quit my job and shouted at my brother" I said. "What has he done now?" Michael said with a fed up facial expression.

"Fucked up big time so for some crazy reason Ashton put a blindfold over my eyes, took me to a field in the middle of nowhere and attempted to 'surprise' me with the amazing present of Luke standing there" I said out of breath as I said of all that rather fast. "What happened after that?" Michael asked being his usual curious self.

"I walked home then forgave him this morning on the train" I said. I must of sounded like one of those loved up girls who forgives the boy no matter what he does but I'm not. I'm not loved up and I wouldn't forgive Ashton if he did something major. "Because that totally makes sense!" he said sounding not amused.

We talked and talked for hours because Isaac (my co-worker) offered to take over my shift which I gladly accepted however I didn't go home like a normal person would, I stayed in the same seat, me and Michael took turns to rant about things that annoyed us and managed to get through 2 cups of tea and 1 more coffee. It was probably one of the best afternoons of my life.

i made Katie quit her job because it was extremely boring plus photography is ten times better than an office job in my mind.
