Mon-El walked into the concrete block room where Lillian's cell was, "Morning sunshine." He said with a broad smile on his face. Lillian slowly sat up and glared at him, "What do you want?" He walked up to the glass door and propped his arm up on the doorframe, "Just want to make sure that you're-." Lillian cut him off, "Still here?" He cocked his head to the side, "Well yeah, that too. I also wanted to make sure that your needs are taken care of." She stood up to be face to face with him, "What is this a hotel?" He smiled brightly again, "Like we said, it's a five star." She raised an eyebrow, "Really? A 5-Star?" "What complaints could you possibly have?" He asked. She looked around her and threw her hands in the air, "It's small and stuffy. Oh, and I could really go for a cheese omelette this fine morning."
He raised his eyebrows and began walking backward toward the door, "Oh yeah, I'll get right on that. Anything else?" Lillian waved him off, "That'll be all, Jeeves."Kent Farmhouse
It was 7:30 am and Kara was walking down the hallway past the guest room, but she backtracked when she saw Luna's big eyes staring at her, "Good morning Luna." She said, walking over to the bed and sitting down looking down at her little girl. Luna looked up at her, "Morning momma!" She smiled down at her, "We can go home soon. Uncle Winn said he and Auntie Lena have cleared the area of kryptonite completely." Luna jumped up, "We get to see daddy!" "Yes we do." Kara said, smiling widely at her happy toddler.Clark walked into the doorway, "Unca Clark!" she screeched, leaping into his arms. She hugged him around the neck, "What is it sweetie?" He asked. She leaned back, "We can go back home now!" She exclaimed brightly. He lifted her higher, "Yay!" He said. He spun her around several times causing her to giggle uncontrollably. "Okay baby, let's pack all of our stuff up." Kara said, beginning to pick up the room. "I'll help." Clark said, he flew Luna around the room on his arm. "Don't forget bunny!" She yelped, looking back at him. "How in the world could we forget bunny?" He asked. Kara momentarily froze while picking up a blanket off of the floor, "You okay, Kara?" Clark asked. She slowly stood again, "Yeah, I'm fine." "Are you sure? You don't seem okay." He replied. "Yeah yeah. Totally fine." She said shakily.
"Okay." He nodded his head and carried Luna down the stairs.Outside the Kent Farmhouse
Clark and Kara had gathered their things out on the grass. Luna ran up to Martha, "Bye bye, nana!" Martha smiled and crouched down in front of her, "Goodbye darling. I'll see you later, okay?" Luna hugged her tightly, "Kay." Martha stood up and looked over at her son, "Come here Clark, hug your mother goodbye." He walked over to her, "I would never leave without a hug." He said in a sincere voice. Martha patted him on the cheek, "I know you wouldn't, honey. You too, Kara." "I'm comin! I'm comin!" Kara said walking over to them. "Bye Kara, don't forget, you can come around whenever you want. Don't be a stranger." Martha said, cupping Kara on the shoulder. Kara smiled, "Don't worry, I won't be." She looked down at her daughter, "Come on Luna, let's go!" She said walking back towards the bags. "Coming Mommy!" Luna called after her. "Bye mom, I'll see you later. I love you." Clark said, kissing his mother on the cheek. "Love you too, sweetheart!"Clark walked over to Kara. Kara picks up Luna and bunny and they fly up into the sky. Martha looks up after them. After a while Kara groans, "Ouch!" She doubled over dropping Luna. Clark's eyes widen. He swoops down and quickly catches her. He flies back up to Kara, "Kara. Hey! Are you okay? What just happened?" He asked, concerned. Kara stared up into his face, "This is going to sound really nutty." He shrugged, "It's what we live for." "I think I'm having contractions of some sort."
He stared wide eyed at her, "Kara, that's impossible. You aren't-." "Pregnant, I know. A contraction doesn't have to be a pregnancy thing." She said cutting him off and glaring at him. "Okay, I'm sorry for assuming." He said. "Good, you should be." Kara replied raising an eyebrow, still clutching her abdomen with her right hand.
"Can you fly? I mean, obviously you can, just not very well. Do you want me to support you back to the DEO?" He asked. "You mean carry me?" She asked, her glare beginning to sear into his eyes. He began stuttering a bit, "Well,l I- no. I'd be carrying Luna. But, I'd just throw your arm over my shoulder to support you. I can't actually hold both of you at the same time and I'm guessing she can't fly yet." Her glee lifted, "Oh, okay. That's fine. And no, she can't."
He looked her up and down, "You look horrible."
"Man, do you know what to say to turn a woman on." She said sarcastically. "Shut up." "Is that how you got Lois?" She asked. He held out his arm, "Just put your arm over my shoulder so we can go."
"What a gentleman."
"Please stop." He pleaded
"Alright, I'm done."
"Good."
"Is this a new suit? It feels really nice." She asked.
"Enough already.""Fine! You have no sense of humor." She replied, putting her arm over his shoulder. "You could literally be dying right now and you're making jokes." She looked over to him, "I'm sorry for your loss." "Are you done?" He asked. She cleared her throat, "Yes, let's go."
They dropped onto the landing. Mon-El saw them land and ran over to them, "Kara! Are you okay? What's going on?" He said looking over her and moving onto Luna. Kara stared at him, "If only I knew." Alex walked up the steps, "What happened to her?" She asked, gesturing at Kara who still had her arm thrown over Clark's shoulder.
Clark looked from Kara to Alex, "Well, she dropped Luna and I caught her. She said she was having a contraction of some sort." Mon-El's eyes shot up, "But she's not- right?" "No, she isn't. She said it isn't that." Clark reassured him. Alex cut in, "Oh, okay. Did you x-ray her just to make sure-." Clark held up a hand. "Yes I did Alex. She isn't."
Alex squinted at him and shook her head, "Not for that specifically, just for anything." "I didn't see anything wrong with her." He replied. "Well, I guess we'll run some tests." Alex said. Clark walked with Kara down the stairs.
3 hours later
Mon-El walked in, "Hey Babe, you okay?" Kara looked up to see Mon-El in the doorway, "For the moment. Where's Luna?" She asked. Mon-El gestured out the door, "She's sitting with Winn, just in case she isn't sarcastic enough."Just then Alex walked in, "Sorry to interrupt but I have results." Kara sat up, "Whats wrong with me?"
"I'm not totally sure. I mean, Clark saw nothing when he x-rayed you, and we got nothing when we did an ultrasound of your abdomen." Alex replied.
"So you have nothing about this at all?" Kara asked hopefully."We've been researching your symptoms. Doctors and scientists have a very vague name for it since it's so rare." Alex said, her voice shakey. "And?" Mon-El asked. "It's called invisibilia serpens flatu Parasitus externus abdominis." Alex replied. Kara's eyes widened, "An invisible Parasite?" Alex eyes were bleary, "A very deadly one at that."
"How did I get it?" Kara asked. Alex shrugged, "I have no idea. Wait, were there any diseases like this on Krypton?" "Oh no." Kara muttered. "What is it?" Alex asked. "There were legends. Myths." She said, looking from Alex to Mon-El. Alex stepped toward her bed, "What did they say?" "To put it in short for you. None of the stories end well." She said. "Meaning what?" Mon-El asked nervously.
"Every story ended in death."
