Stephen's POV

"Are you sure this is temporary?"
"I am sure. I'll break it once I get my charm back," Hosuh spoke quickly, walking by my side as I inspected the glowing, blue spot on the inside of my wrist. I glanced across at my roommate, the boy seeming to be lost in thought.

"Stephen?" He suddenly asked. "You could see me, even before I tied myself to you. Are you a spirit as well?" The demon glanced up at me as we rounded the corner, the school appearing around the bend. I sighed.
"I am," I answered simply, walking ahead of him. "You should go back home. I'll call you if I find the charm."

"Was that Hosuh?" A familiar voice spoke from beside me. Turning my head, I spotted Shai walking towards me, hands in her trench coat pockets. I frowned, watching her carefully.
"You can see him," I observed.
"And you can as well," Shai smiled, her maroon eyes gleaming. My ears twitched. I didn't like that smile. "I'll help you find it," she spoke, beginning to walk closer to the school. I jogged slightly to keep up with the girl.

"You don't even know what it looks like,"
"It's a simple moon charm," she smiled at me again.
"How did you know?" I questioned, annoyed and slightly surprised.
"Stephen, you're not that observant, you know? Hosuh always wears a necklace and he wasn't wearing it yesterday. See you in class," Shai waved me off, walking down a corridor towards her locker. I sighed, frustrated. I didn't like Shai. She knew too much yet, more eyes could help. Let's just hope no one else knows.

"Anything yet?"
"Nothing." I sighed, poking at my food.
Shai looked annoyed as she rested her chin on her hand, thinking. "School is almost over and still nothing. Are you sure that Hosuh lost it here?"
"It's most likely. He was fine for half of yesterday, remember?"
"Does he have an idea of where he might have lost it?"

"I'm not too sure. I could call him, if you want," I offered, pulling up my sleeve to show her the glowing spot on my wrist. Shai's eyes widened.
"He tied himself to you?" She sounded somewhat afraid. I shrugged, hiding it again.
"Only temporarily. Just so then I can call him if we find it. It was his idea," Shai relaxed slightly, leaning back into her hand. She then shook her head.
"Don't call him yet. We'll continue searching then you can ask him after school. It's too risky to bring him here. If us three are spirits, others might be as well."

I nodded in agreement. "That's a fair point," I muttered, standing up to take my lunch tray back to the canteen. "Are you sure you aren't hungry?" I questioned for the fifth time, watching as my classmate shook her head.
"No, I'm fine. Spirits don't need to eat, remember?"
"But then eating helps with blending in," I smiled, turning towards the canteen. "See you in class, Shai,"

Hosuh's POV

My ears twitched suddenly, causing me to look up from my drawing pad. Faintly, from downstairs, I could pick up voices and the rattling of keys.
"Look, I'm sorry I didn't walk with you this morning. I needed space to think," Stephen sounded annoyed. I chuckled. Daniel may not forgive him after that.
"Fine, fine. I believe you. But don't leave me alone tomorrow!"
"Alright! Fine! I won't!"

"I'm gonna go see if Hosuh's here yet," Daniel's voice floated up to me. I quickly shut my laptop and swung my chair around to where it sat the night before, listening to the heavy beating of feet as the green haired boy made his way up the steps, followed by the voice of Stephen.
"I don't think he'll be there yet!"

Suddenly, my bedroom door flung open, Daniel's bright, amber eyes shining expectantly. His eyes scanned the room, soon falling when he realised I wasn't technically there. Upset, The boy closed the door, making me feel incredibly guilty. I wish I could tell the green haired boy, but he was a human. He was the last person I could tell. I'm sorry, Daniel.
