Stephen's POV

"Stephen!" My ears twitched, causing me to look up at Shai, who was running towards me, panic across her face. She grabbed my wrist, hastily dragging me behind the school. Once we got there, she stopped walking, letting go of me. "Call Hosuh," she ordered, staring at me with her maroon eyes.

I had mixed feelings about this. The way she was speaking told me that this was bad but she would only get me to call Hosuh if we had found the necklace. I hesitantly pulled up my sleeve, pressing a thumb to the glowing blue spot that sat on my wrist.

Suddenly, it began to glow brighter, enveloping my arm in a bright blue light. I shaded my eyes, watching as a spirit began to take form a few feet away. The light faded, Hosuh now standing with us. The demon looked terrible. There were dark bags under his eyes and his form hardly held its shape anymore. He was just a transparent blur but that was to be expected. It's been three weeks since he lost the charm. He could be dead if he didn't grab hold of it in a few days.

Shai watched him, a hint of sadness flashing across her features for a split second. She shook her head before opening her mouth. "I have good news and bad news," Hosuh noticeably perked up, now listening intently. "I found your charm. But a human has hold of it," I choked, coughing for a few seconds before staring at Shai.

"A human has it?" Both Hosuh and I yelled, causing Shai to flinch. We both knew how bad that could be. Hosuh reached up, grabbing onto his pale hair as he paced, fear in his eyes.
"This is bad," he muttered to himself. "That thing could kill them! I need to get it back!" He turned to Shai, blue eyes wide. "Which human?" He ordered, taking hold of her shoulders. "I need to know."

Hosuh's POV

Where is she? Where is she?

I sprinted through the hallways, not caring if anyone saw me or not. I knew where my necklace was. I knew who has it. I need to get it back before both of us will die. I had sprinted all through the school, not even close to being out of breath, thanks to my form but my skin constantly prickled and burned. Though it hurt, it was the one thing that told me that I still somewhat had a form.

Suddenly, I heard an ear piercing scream, chilling my bones. That was her. I turned, sprinting towards the sound. I sprinted past one of my classmates, Ivu, who looked surprised as I ran past. I turned the corner, stopping outside the girls bathroom. I could feel my stomach drop. I was going to regret this.

I slowly pushed the door open, instantly spotting Pau standing by the bathroom mirror, petrified. Her eyes were locked on her reflection, one that would be horrifying to see as a mortal human. Her pale eyes glowed unnaturally, two large, twisted horns protruding from her skull and large wings sat neatly on her back. All in her reflection. Out of the mirror, the pink haired girl looked perfectly normal and her fear told me, she was.

"Pau," I spoke softly, walking closer towards her. I kept my own wings tucked neatly by my side, hoping she wouldn't see them. Her ears twitched noticeably, her head snapping to me in fright.
"Who are you?" She questioned, voice shaking. I could see the necklace on her chest now. A simple moon charm. I took a shaky breath.
"It's me, Hosuh," I told her. Her eyes widened.
"Hosuh? What are you doing here? Why are you all blurry?" Pau took off her glasses, to clean them. "You shouldn't be in the girls bathroom,"
"I know but that necklace, how did you get it?"
"I found it. Why?" She put her glasses back on, eyeing my suspiciously.
"Because that necklace is dangerous," I told her, grabbing hold of my shirt to stop my shaking hands. "And if you don't give it to me, we both will die,"

"How do I know you're not lying?" Pau's voice was trembling. She was terrified.
"Look at yourself. Look at me. I'm fading without that necklace and you're becoming a spirit with it." Pau clutched the charm.
"That can't be true!" She raised her voice, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "You're not a spirit, Hosuh! We're both human, right? A necklace can't kill us!"

"It can," A new voice could be heard. We both froze, turning towards the bathroom exit to where Ivu suddenly stood. I turned, staring at the girl's reflection. Small, feathered wings sat on her back and faintly, a ring of white light floated above her head. An angel. She walked towards Pau, enveloping her in a hug. The taller, pink haired girl looked surprised, soon, after moments of hesitation hugged the white haired girl back.

As Ivu pulled away, she yanked the charm from Pau's neck, gaining a yell of panic from the girl. The angel clutched it in her fist, staring at Pau's reflection in horror. My breath hitched in my throat. I stared at her reflection. Her reflection was no longer that of a demon. She looked normal but her eyes continued to glow unnaturally and her ears were pointed. A trait all spirits shared. I glanced at Pau herself and she looked like a normal girl. No glowing eyes, no pointed ears.

Ivu chucked me the necklace and I caught it, a cold wave of air shooting up my burning skin, relieving me from the fiery grasp of death. I looked in the mirror and I could see myself. Not some odd, transparent blur. Me.

"You go, Hosuh," Ivu spoke, giving me a small, fear filled smile. "I'll take care of Pau."
I smiled back, nodding to them both before pressing my index finger to a glowing, purple spot on my wrist. "I'll see you guys tomorrow," I promised before letting the light envelop me, soon Stephen and Shai appearing before me. I was no longer in a bathroom. I was behind the school again.
