When we drove away from the interviewing building, the van was plagued with a deep and awkward silence.
"What do you guys want to eat?" I asked, trying to lighten the mood.
No one replied and instead sat with blank expressions.
"Are you guys allowed to eat at restaurants?"
Still no answer.
'Tough crowd.' I thought, but of course they'd be confused. Kris put on a show for everyone and I was dragged into it.
"Gege, is this true?" Tao asked, "Are you guys really... dating?"
"No," I said before Kris could answer, "I'm not entirely sure what that interview was all about either, we're just friends."
I took a nervous glance at Kris to see what his response would be, and everyone seemed to be staring intently at him as well.
He shook his head, "It's not true."
They all seemed relieved for some reason.
"I was just telling the MC what he wanted to hear so he'd leave Aria alone." Kris confessed.
"Good." Tao said.
"It's be best to leave it at that," Luhan said, "Otherwise... you know what will happen, right?"
Kris and everyone, except me, nodded.
I felt like the only one who had no idea what he meant.
When we arrived at the hotel, I went to check in.
"What can I help you with?" The woman asked.
"I'll be checking in. I'm sure the rooms are under..."
'What was the code name again?'
"Bruce Wayne?"
She typed in the names and handed me a packet full of keys, oblivious to the boy-band sitting in the waiting room.
"You'll be in suite 744." She smiled.
'What, there's only one room?' I thought. I turned around with a frown, 'For such a wealthy company, SM is super cheap.'
"Where's the room?" Kris asked.
"Umm... the twenty-first floor." I replied.
"Don't tell Luhan that." He laughed a little.
"Why?" I asked.
"He's afraid of heights." Kris replied as we all headed to the elevators with our luggage.
"So... do I pick up dinner again or... how does this work?" I asked as I pressed the button for the twenty first floor.
"We could get room service." Tao suggested.
"Are you sure that's what you guys want?" I asked.
"It doesn't really matter, it's just dinner." Xiumin said.
"Breakfast is more important anyway." Kris said.
"If you say so..."
We arrived on our floor and I could tell Luhan was feeling a bit uneasy. I almost wanted to hug him, he was so adorable; but I didn't like hugging people, so that wasn't going to happen.
I unlocked the door to find that the room was actually pretty huge. There was a bathroom and three bedrooms, including a couch in the TV area and a kitchen.
"Damn." I muttered in English.
"Impressed?" Kris asked.
I nodded.
"SM usually gets us room like this since we'll be staying a while."
'I guess they're not that cheap after all.'
"I call the shower first!" Xiumin said, running into the bathroom.
Luhan followed after him, "Let's shower together, it's quicker."
Tao appeared out of nowhere next to Kris, "Gege, do you want to shower together?"
"I thought I told you never to ask me that again! Leader Hyung showers alone."
I watched them with a straight face, 'This can not be real.' I was living every fangirl's fantasy watching EXO pair up to shower.
It was just not my dream.
"Well... while you guys are doing that," I backed out of the door slowly, "I'll go pick up food."
"Oh, okay." Kris said, noticing my nervousness, "If you're so insistent on dinner being important, make sure it's healthy, okay?"
"That was the plan." I replied, smiling awkwardly.
I was out of there with Kris's credit card quicker than I'd even run in track. (Yes, I ran track.) That would have been such an awkward situation if I had stayed any longer.
'I'll have to make sure to take my sweet time finding a restaurant.' I muttered.
