Mr. Hudson's friend didn't even afford the family the courtesy of a nod, let alone words, but his face was still soft and neutral. Mr. Anderson walked off with Sebastian and the Puckermans, silent though Sebastian attempted to converse with Mr. Anderson repeatedly. Brittany went back to dancing, but Kurt's eyes followed Mr. Anderson. Soon, he found himself sitting with acquaintances making small talk as he watched Rachel and Mr. Hudson. Rachel was clearly the more experienced dancer and Mr. Hudson, though he was trying his best to keep up, made numerous mistakes. Rachel didn't seem to care however, she seemed entranced, completely happy. With the end of the music, the two parted and Mr. Hudson stepped up to Mr. Anderson. "Why aren't you dancing, Anderson? This is the best ball I've attended in ages, you must experience it with me."
Mr. Anderson shrugged, amused by his friend's enthusiasm. "Who do you suggest I dance with? None of the girls here are suitable, you must see."
"Must I indeed? I think the ladies here are charming."
"Oh, sure they are, but no amount of country charm will tempt me. To dance with one of these...ladies would break my reputation and go against who I am," Mr. Anderson grumbled.
Mr. Hudson was amazed. "Oh, Mr. Anderson, you have disappointed me tonight. Several of these girls seem like good dancers and are quite pretty."
"I admit that the lady you were dancing with had some talent. She managed to keep you from tripping, so that is an accomplishment."
"Oh, Ms. Schuester is the most beautiful woman I have ever danced with, and her sisters are quite pretty as well" Kurt smiled when he heard this. It seemed that Mr. Hudson was agreeable after all. As for his friend, Kurt's hopes were not as high.
"I believe you have lost your eyesight, Hudson. Rachel Schuester's beauty is nothing to her youngest sister's," Mr. Anderson remarked, confusing Kurt greatly.
"Then ask her to dance," Mr. Hudson laughed.
"I will not dance with a woman just because you insist that she is 'quite pretty.'"
Mr. Hudson walked away, leaving his friend, obviously a hopeless case, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Kurt burned holes in Mr. Anderson with his eyes, searching for his intentions.

Not gonna lie, I really liked writing this scene, though it didn't turn out awesome. It was fun spicing up the Mr. Darcy character with a little bit of the lovable Blaine Anderson and giving Blaine early 19th century spin.
Hmm
Comments are much appreciated, even mean ones.
