Soon, the day came to a close and the Schuester household was asleep. Several more days passed before the young people lost hope in meeting the glamorous Mr. Hudson, as it was especially difficult for the curious Brittany. One morning, the family sat in their parlour, absorbed in their own activities. Brittany sat with Kurt, working on Brittany's ballet costume, Tina was studying her languages, Rachel was singing, and Mr. Shuester quietly sang along and he jotted in his notebook. At last, Tina looked up from her book and addressed her sisters. "Are we just going to ignore the fact that father doesn't want us to be happy?" Kurt and Brittany looked up and Rachel stopped singing. The room was filled with awkward silence until Tina continued. "We will certainly die old maids if father refuses to introduce us to any young men, and, even if we do manage to find ourselves husbands without his help, they will have no life to give us, or at least nothing like Mr. Hudson could." Mr. Schuester put down his notebook.
"Tina, I would do anything for you to be happy-"
"Except visit our new neighbour?"
"Anything," he replied.
Kurt raised his eyebrows and Brittany laughed. "Don't worry Tina, we don't need men."
"I know, Brit, hush," Tina said hurriedly, "What were you saying, sir?"
Mr. Schuester smiled mischievously. "I would do anything for you girls, including introduce myself to our Mr. Hudson."
"So you will then?"
"Will I," Mr. Schuester stood, "I already have!" Kurt and Rachel Locked eyes and communicated their thoughts with their looks. Brittany, once she understood what had happened, looked shocked, and Tina sat triumphantly, looking out the window.
"When do we meet the gentleman," Rachel inquired.
"He is to be at next week's ball in Lima." With those words, Mr. Schuester left his son and daughters alone in the room to talk amongst themselves.
