*Sebastian's POV*

It was about 6:30 in the morning here when I heard rustling outside my tent. It wasn't directly outside it. The sound seemed like it was coming from the area around the fire pit. I crawled out of bed very quietly and peeped through a little crack in my tent flaps. It appeared to be Kendall heading in the direction of the meadow. What on earth could she be doing that is so important at 6:35 in the morning. She's by herself, this can't be good. I walked ever so carefully out of my tent so as not to make a sound. Once I was a good distance from camp, I began to walk a bit louder. However, still silent enough so Kendall doesn't hear me.

I honestly hate walking to the meadow, it takes forever and it isn't the easiest either. There are so many paths, which make it easy to get lost. If you go down the wrong one, who knows what will happen. No one has ever told me, but I am sure it is instant death or you get badly injured. I should probably focus so that won't happen to me.

"Oh look, there she is!" I whisper yelled the immediately put my hands over my mouth. Thankfully Kendall didn't see or hear anything. I started to watch her closely, it seems like she is practicing her magic. At this time the sun is beginning to rise making the sky a pretty orangish yellow kind of color.

Kendall sent a light breeze above the grass making it sway back and forth. Then she practiced lifting a log into the air and placing it in various spots. It has only bee a few days since she has started practicing her magic and she has made so much progress already. I was so deep in thought that I had no idea where I was stepping and I accidentally stepped on twig.

*CRACK*

Kendall looked up and around frantically trying to find who made the noise. Next thing I know my feet left the ground and I was hovering in the air making direct eye contact with Kendall. I had a brief look of panic that she might drop me. Then I received and innocent look from her and she gently set me down next to her. I was pulled into her as her arms wrapped around me. I rested my head on her shoulder and hugged her back. Our hug broke apart and she looks me deep in the eyes.

"Sebastian, you can't just follow people like that. You could've gotten really hurt if I didn't realize it was you."

"You did realize it was me, though."

"I know, but if I didn't right away you could have gotten badly injured. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if something happened to you."

"Okay Kendall, I understand"

I went to sit down on log while she continued to practice. Peter isn't here, but I know he would be super proud of her. Her hand movements were so beautiful to watch. Despite not knowing much, she uses her magic with such grace. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a fire ball flying at Kendall! I wanted to warn her, but before I could she stopped it in mid air and made it disappear. We both looked around for source of where it came from. However, once Peter came out from behind a bush we knew instantaneously.

"I must say Kendall you have improved a lot since we last practiced."

"She got up super early this morning to practice. I heard her and followed her to the meadow. She has been working really hard!" I updated Peter.

Kendall nervously smiled as we were flooding her with compliments.

"Thanks you guys, but I have a long ways to go before I can even try to take on the shadow."

"That is very true Kendall, however, we are only trying to encourage you." Peter brought up, "You've been working hard, let's take a break. I want you to come with me to chop up some wood."

I followed Kendall who walked behind Peter as we walked back to camp. Once we got there I was left with Jimmy to help prep for lunch. Meanwhile Kendall and Peter got to do all the fun stuff.

*Peter's POV*

I lead Kendall to the big stumps of wood that needed to be chopped. She picked up and ax and began to chop. She lifted the ax in the air then swung it down really hard on the stump, almost as if she were taking her anger out on the stump.

"Geez Kendall, what did the stump ever do to you?"

Kendall just glared at me and continued chopping. I walked away for a little bit to go get some water. When I came back I hid behind a tree and watched as she was no longer using the ax, in fact she was using her magic to split the wood. She threw the stump in the air with one hand then broke it into four piece with a snap of the other hand. Sebastian wasn't kidding when he said she was working hard. I think within a month or two she will be ready to take on my shadow. Kendall is a very powerful person she just hasn't ever had anyone teach her how to use it to its full extent.

"Kendall, I have some water for you." I said pretending I was coming from around the corner. Her stumps instantly fell to ground and she picked up the ax. I acted as if I didn't see anything and handed her the cup of water.

"Thank you, I really needed this!" Kendall smiled.

"Yeah, you were working hard. I mean look at all those logs, it would have taken two hours for one of the older boys to do it. I better not say they got beat by girl." I winked, "Unless you didn't really hand chop them with the ax because those are some pretty perfect pieces for using an ax."

All while I was saying this I walked closer Kendall until we were only a few inches apart. I could tell it had some kind of effect because she looked me up and down trying to figure out what I was doing. She gulped her water down and I continued getting closer to see what she was going to do about it. Kendall dropped her cup and let our closeness get to only a few centimeters apart until she finally couldn't take it and push me back with a gust of wind.

"Peter what do you think you're doing?!"

"Seeing if you really used the ax or not."

"Yeah, I'm sure that's it. I used the ax for a bit then used my magic. We both know that we're not married, so don't even try attempt anything because it won't work."

"Whatever you say," I rolled my eyes. "Let's bring these back to camp and stack them."

The two of us walked back to camp and began stacking the logs. By the time we were done it was lunch time. It wasn't a super filling lunch, but enough to keep us going until dinner. I saw Kendall walked toward our tent and decided to follow her, I walked in t see her gathering clothes.

"Where are you going?"

"I thought I would go to the lake and bathe, if that is alright with you."

"Am I able to join?"

"No."

"Then it is not alright with me."

"That's too bad I'm going anyways."

With that Kendall just walked off toward the lake and there was nothing I could say or do that would stop her.
