BAILEY POV

Taehyung and I were cuddling on my bed, drinking hot chocolate. My roommates were still at the party, and I knew they would crash there. For now, we had privacy. Silence, peace, a time to talk.

I nuzzled my head in the crook of his neck as I rested on his arm that was wrapped around me. One of my hands was holding a mug of hot chocolate, while the other played with his hand.

After a few more moments, I finally spoke up.

"I've been thinking... about us. About this whole situation... and—"

"Before you say anything else..." Taehyung interrupted. "Can I just say, I missed you so much. There wasn't a day I didn't feel guilt, sorrow, loneliness— knowing that I caused you so much shock and pain when I was supposed to protect you. But even so... I couldn't forget you. Everyday, I missed your face, your voice, your touch. Every day I wanted to come to your window and see you, but I knew you didn't want that."

He sighed as he held the hand he was playing with.

"I never felt so... consumed." He said. I looked up at him, putting down my mug on the bedside. I turned over so that I would be facing him.

"Taehyung... I missed you too. Which is why I want to be with you. I realized that I like you because you make me feel happy, safe, and cared for. And all those feelings don't disappear just because you're in a gang. I accepted it, and still... I want to be with you." I said. Taehyung smiled at me as he cupped my cheeks, but it was a sad one.

"Is something wrong?" I asked. He looked down.

"I just can't help but acknowledge the fact that you being with me does put you in danger... I don't know if I can be selfish like that." He said.

"Taehyung. I want you... I want to be with you. And not having you in my life is scarier than any gang member that can provoke me." I said.

"No... you don't understand. The gangs here, the rivalries... they're dangerous." He said, but he looked into my eyes. "But I am going to protect you. I won't let anyone hurt you, I promise." He said.

I smiled at him as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

"You know, I think you become more beautiful in the last month." He said, as he leaned in to kiss me.

"You can't possiblity get any more handsome." I responded as our lips met. This was our kiss of longing. We started off with gentle pecks, but they escalated into deeper, faster movements. He soon licked my bottom lip for permission to explore, and I granted it. He put his hands on my waist, and mine were tangled in his hair.

The feeling is indescribable. The passion, excitement, and intimacy of this moment is far too advanced to be explained with the limited words of the dictionary.

All I can say is that it is a feeling I want to have forever. A moment of euphoria, of comfort, of trust. It enflamed something in me... in us. Something that could influence the mind to go crazy if not handled properly.

This moment lasted a few seconds, before we finally broke apart to catch our breaths. I looked into his eyes and waited for him to say something. He put our foreheads together.

"Have you been practicing? I think you got better." He joked. I rolled my eyes and hit his chest, snuggling up against him again.

"So... does this mean we're officially dating?" He asked. I smiled, but he couldn't see.

"Nope." I said.

"What? Why not ?!" He whined. I giggled.

"Because... we aren't allowed to date." I said, teasing him as I stood up from the bed.

"Come onnn~~ that's just a stupid rule. They're meant to be broken. You said before that YOU were going to make it official with ME." He pouted as he crossed his arms. I laughed as I turned around to face him.

"Well, if you behave and not get beat up anymore, I'll consider it again. That meant-to-be broken rule will get us kicked out of the program, and I worked hard to get here." I said, smiling innocently. He blinked twice before dropping his crossed arms.

"Bailey... the only thing we're missing is the title.. we already do everything—"

"In secrecy." I said. He shook his head and sighed.

"Fineeeee." He said. Just then, his phone rang. When he saw the caller ID, his expression hardened. He swallowed before answering.

"Yeah?" He answered.

I watched confused as his expression turned into a frown. Then, before I knew it, he was getting up and grabbing his jacket.

"I gotta go, I'll see you later." He said as he made his way to the window.

"Is something wrong?" I asked. He climbed out the window before turning around and reaching in to cup my face and smile.

"No, everything's fine. I'll call you later okay? Goodnight Beautiful." He said before running off into the darkness.

Something didn't feel right. Who called him to make him leave to suddenly? What did they say?
