14: You Won

BAILEY POV

I waited for Taehyung in front of his class by lunch time. I got out earlier today from class, allowing me to wait for him for our date.

The bell rang and the doors to the lecture hall opened, releasing dozens of students at once.

When I recognized a familiar face, I waited for him to see me.

I was leaned up against the building, and when he finally saw me, his eyes sparkled and he shined a heart-melting smile at me.

Ah... how are you even real.

He jogged over to me and hugged me, wrapping me in a secure, friendly hug.

"Hey! How long were you waiting here?" He asked. I smiled.

"Not long. Ready for our date?" I asked. He nodded like a little boy.

"Wah... you came here to pick me up? How romantic." He said as he bat his eyes. I laughed as I bravely grabbed his arm and dragged him along.

"So! Where are we going to eat?" He asked. I smiled.

"I was craving noodles." I said. His eyes lit up, quite literally as his beauty literally shined.

"Me too! Come! I know a great place!" He said. He led me to a noodles restaurant closeby. When we walked in, a girl approached to help assist us. However, when she saw Taehyung, her eyes lit up. Just like any girl's would.

"Taehyung!" She said. Taehyung turned to her and smiled widely.

"Hi Minah." He said as he gave her a hug.

"How are you! I haven't seen you in so long!" She said. He agreed.

"You know me... studying hard." He said. She laughed and playfully punched his chest.

"More like playing hard. Oh? And what's your name?" She asked, turning to me.

I forced a smile.

"Bailey." I said shortly.

"You're new aren't you? I haven't seen you around." She said. I nodded.

After a short chat, consisting of constant laughter, playful hitting, and hugs between Taehyung and Minah, we got our seats. So she must be the girl that Taehyung likes. She's... pretty.

"I'll have one jjajangmyun please." I said to her.

"Make that two please. And tangsuyuk (fried pork) please." Taehyung added. Minah nodded and took our menus.

"Two bowls of jjajangmyun and one tangsuyuk coming right up!" She said before she walked away. I sighed

For some reason I felt... sad. I don't know... maybe I hoped for something to happen between me and Taehyung? I know... stupid right.

"What's wrong?" Taehyung asked me. I shook it off.

"Hm? O-Oh... nothing. Just tired." I said. He smiled.

"She's my friend's girlfriend." He said, clarifying the role of Minah. My heart suddenly felt less heavy, but I tried not to show it.

"Oh... she's really nice. Anyway, how was your day?" I asked.

"Bad until I saw you." He winked. I smiled. 

"And why was it bad?" I asked, leaning my face onto the palms of my hands.

"Because learning is hard. Thinking takes so much effort and it's so boring to sit there hearing someone talk about everything they know. I want to go out, do things on my own, explore the world!" He said. I giggled.
