thirteen years ago

*third person pov*

each girl all the way across the store, Jamie and Parker slipped out of their mother's sight running to the doll isle in target. Jamie reached the isle first, scanning through all of the dolls hoping to find a doll of Zayn from one direction. once Parker reached the isle she began to look for a doll of Niall from the same band as Zayn.

once Parker found her Niall doll she turned to the little light brown haired girl smiling. "isn't Niall the best?" the dark haired little girl asked admiring her idol.

"no. Zayn is" Jamie said pointing at the doll that she held tightly in her little hands.

"that's where you're wrong" Parker said snapping back, ready to argue with Jamie. "Niall will always be the best in one direction" she said walking closer to Jamie.

"and that's where you're wrong" Jamie said adding gas to the fire, walking closer like Parker was doing.

when they finally reached each other they were as mad as a five and six year old could get. Parker and Jamie both held the boxes that contained their dolls in their hands tightly.

"there you are" both of the little girls mothers said at the same time, coming from different ends of the isle. "I've been looking for you!" Jamie's mom said to her with worry all over her face.

"I found a Zayn doll! can I get him?" the light haired girl begged her mom, getting on her knees.

"yes. but if you ever run away like that again that means no more toys" Jamie's mom said sternly.

"deal" she answered to her mom

"ohh mom I found a Niall doll! can I pleaseeee get it?" the dark hair girl asked her mom with hope in her eyes.

"I guess so but like her mom said, if you ever do this again that means no more toys" Parker's mom said shaking her head.

"yes!" Parker said jumping up and down hugging her doll that was still in the package.

"okay i'm hungry, can we leave" both girls said at the same time to their mother's as they turned their heads to each other glaring.

both mothers began laughing. "would you like to join us for lunch?" Parkers mother offered to Jamie and her mom. Jamie looked up to her mom and shook her head.

"yes we would love that" Jamie's mom answered causing both girls to roll their eyes and cross their arms.

"okay! my name is Halle is this is my daughter parker, she's 5" Parker's mother said looking at the other little girls mother.

"I'm Nicole and this is my daughter Jamie, she's 6" Jamie's mother said in response.

"I want chick fil a" the older little girl demanded. "is chick fil a okay?" Nicole asked.

"yes, we will meet you there" Halle said

10 minutes later

the four of them sat in a booth at chick fil a waiting for their food. Nicole and Halle sat one one side of the booth as Jamie and Parker sat on the other side. both girls had opened their dolls in the car and brought them inside. as they waited for their food they played with their dolls and frequently gave each other dirty looks.

the food finally came and they sat their dolls in their laps so they could eat. "are you going to be starting school this year?" Nicole asked Parker.

"yep" Parker responded

"so is Jamie! maybe you will be in the same class!" Nicole said smiling.

"ugh I hope not" both girls mumbled.

"what?" Halle said confused.

"nothing" both girls responded.

the two mothers began talking. they got along so well and had a lot in common. the two girls realized they would be seeing each other a lot more then they hoped.

"our moms are gonna be friends arnt they" Jamie said shaking her head.

"I think so" Parker replied rolling her eyes.

"how about we just agree that everyone in one direction is the best" Jamie said shrugging.

"deal" Parker said nodding her head smiling. "here since everyone is the best you can have my Niall doll" she said picking up her doll handing it to Jamie.

"okay and you can have my Zayn doll" she said smiling, trading her doll with Parker

the two sat there playing with their new dolls, smiling, laughing, having fun. the mothers noticed this and looked at each other smiling and nodding.

thirteen years later

two girls stood in the doll isle of target. Jamie at age 19 and Parker at age 18.

"I cant believe one direction split up" Parker said shaking her head tearing up

"we do not talk about that depressing matter!" Jamie said getting upset

"I'm sorry" parker said looking up at that spot that her and Jamie had met thirteen years ago.

"Zayn can do better than them" Jamie said shaking her head.

"HEY!" Parker shouted at her.

"why are you yelling?" the older girl asked startled.

"we agreed all of them are the best you dummy!" she said shaking her head at her best friend.

"but still-" Jamie began to say before she got cut off by Parker

"nope, shut up. I don't wanna hear it" the younger girl said as she plugged her ears.

"you're a baby" Jamie said laughing.

"and you're dumb but do I say that to you?" Parker said crossing her arms.

"yes! all the time" Jamie said laughing even harder now.

parker rolled her eyes. "oh. well good" she responded not knowing what else to say.

"let's go to chick fil a. I'll pay" Jamie suggested knowing her best friend loved it.

"deal, let's go" parker said as they walked out of the isle.
