When Songkarn finally got his phone back he couldn't believe there were no messages or missed calls from Anurak.

Had he really believed that Songkarn would leave... without even coming back? Without any final conversation? Actually, Songkarn didn't think so little of him. He still remembered how he was at springtime in London. Henry had been emotionally and physically a wreck after their break-up. It was probably the same right now. If he guessed correctly he was at home berating himself for being so weak to have relented into telling Songkarn all of his secrets. Probably not sleeping and feeling miserable on a whole new level.

Songkarn felt his heart constrict. It hurt so much and he wanted nothing else, but to run to him or call him. But something held him back. First, he watched all the messages that were on the screen, angrily blinking at him. Most were from his friends. How long had he been missing? It sure seemed like he had been in the hospital for over a day. By his calculations, it wasn't yet Saturday, but all the messages asked where he and his tall, beautiful companion were at? Why had they left them all alone at the meal they were supposed to be enjoying all together? Songkarn decided to call Lucas first because he had not written any messages. He would know and help with the most thorough approach.

"Hey, friend! Thanks for ditching us yesterday. It was a real blast listening to Boom moan about his flailing love life all evening. What are you up to? Nuzzled against your hubby?"

"Hmm... Lucas, are you working right now?" Songkarn thought about how to tell his friend about his hospitalization. About Anurak. Also, it was a bit difficult to hold the phone to his ear. He rather preferred him to come to him and talk face to face. There was a lot of stuff he needed to understand and discuss.

"I'm just leaving the hospital. Why?" His voice had already taken a suspicious tint.

"Well, it would probably be best if you walk back into... or towards the emergency surgery wing, or whatever they call it. I'm somewhere here, I think..." Songkarn had seen the hospital name as they wheeled him through the hallways and knew that they were probably pretty close to each other. Seemed like he was right. It took Lucas less than ten minutes to locate him.

As soon as Lucas stepped into the room and saw him, his face morphed into an ugly mask of anger. He looked scary. Lucas grabbed the medical history stuck at the end of Songkarn's bed and quickly flipped through it.

Lucas came and stood at the side of his bed. He seemed to be holding himself back. Though to Songkarn's amusement, he could not hold the angry face for long and it got replaced by worry and anxiety.

"Are you insane!? How did you get hurt like this? Why didn't you call me sooner? And where is this lovey-dovey-moronic-millennium-old boyfriend of yours?!?"

Songkarn swallowed the sudden piercing pain. "Anurak is at home and he does not know about any of this yet." Songkarn had to breath more superficially. It hurt when he took a deep breath, like talking long pretty much demanded. "I have a lot to tell you. Can you sit and listen to me quietly, because I can't talk fast, but I can't stop either. I'm still pretty dizzy."

Lucas looked at him with a big doubtful crease between his brows but still nodded, took the chair and sat. Songkarn talked and talked and felt tired but still talked. He felt like he had run a marathon. This was some serious exercising. Like an hour of lifting weights. Did people normally feel so deprived of energy after surgery? It seemed that at some point he had drifted off to sleep instead of listening Lucas's take on the events or anything else. What the hell? Was he weak or was this normal?

"I always knew that there was something untold about this curse situation. Just like you, I always wondered." Lucas was sitting still. It was night time already, but it seemed like being a doctor in the same hospital gave some privileges. Like visiting outside of visiting hours.
