XXVI - Ceremony

It was time. This was the big night. After showing his amazing organization skills, Anurak, all of their friends, were finally all there. Together with them. They didn't exactly make him feel at ease, but their appearance was comforting.

Songkarn was staring at himself in the floor-to-ceiling mirror. He could not believe his eyes. He looked quite unlike himself. The tux which he had adamantly refused to wear, had almost by force-fitted for him. And now it hung unceremoniously in the guest room's wardrobe. Obviously for him. It looked perfect, but Songkarn couldn't forgo his doubts of it now being something he should ever wear. Songkarn thought that Anurak was going overboard with this part of their marriage.

Now looking at himself from the mirror he was aghast with what he saw in there. Of course, he was handsome and had not really planned to go in jeans to his own wedding. But wearing a tux that cost almost as much as he in his CEO position made in a month felt a lot over the top. But wasn't it Anurak's style? Even though normally he lived quite freely with his money still there were sometimes, more often related to Songkarn, that he seemed to go all out with excessive spending. Or overexerted his resources for him in a way that Songkarn didn't even know was possible.

Thank god he had been able to change his husband-to-be's plans regarding the gardens. As they were having this ceremony, taking this oath to be together until the end in their own home, Songkarn had made him listen to common sense. How this was not meant to be the wedding of the century. It was a ceremony for the two of them. Following that, friends who needed to see their happiness, not an excuse to overspend.

Now looking himself from the mirror, Songkarn was mystified, horrified and baffled at the same time. What had Anurak turned him into? It was too much. Not just a little bit, but like in an Oscar nominee's wardrobe. Even if there were no carnation or the orchestra, or swans on the lawn, which all were Anurak's first thought when they started planning the wedding.

Lowkey really did not get into Anurak's dictionary. And this tux certainly exceeded all the common reasons. Songkarn had only had one argument with him on that subject and he was certain that his fiancé had seen reason. Why would they need such extravagant details when they could just sit down in the dining room and eat a meal with their friends? Songkarn couldn't believe he was in this kind of situation despite his very well explained reasons that one time.

When Lucas finally got over his puzzlement and felt like he could move forward without drooling all over his best friend, he went to help him get back to his senses.

"Really how much can one person admire himself in front of the mirror?" It was his attempt to relax him, but Songkarn was so wound up that his first reaction was to protest and protect himself. Lucas got ahead of him. "I know. We all know. Do you think Silanon will change his mind now? Who his favorite will be?"

Songkarn let out a dry laugh. "If so, then only for a minute. Wait until he looks at Anurak. It will surely be drool-worthy."

Lucas ushered their other friends out of the room. Where they still couldn't believe that their nice-looking friend could turn out to be a hot celebrity lookalike and be totally drool-worthy. They all went to accompany their dates. Who's going to be there had been a decision that Anurak and Songkarn had thought about a lot. Finally. In the end, they decided that there won't be anything wrong with their friends to feel good with their respective partners. In the end, though only Lucas and Boom wanted to invite someone.

Silanon was adamant in his praises of Anurak. He had reasoned his choice of coming alone without a certain jealous girlfriend saying, "What would happen if she saw me acting like a fanboy of my favorite gay couple?"

Jame told them straight out that he had not felt it possible to introduce him to them yet because he did feel rather new and vulnerable in this relationship even though he had finally given in and started that relationship officially. It had not yet been revealed how his family had taken it, but Songkarn had noticed that Jame seemed still working at his family's company. Which meant that it couldn't have been that bad.
