Accident

Arianna and Max both wanted to get away. So they volunteered to walk Autumn home. They took the shortcut through the cornfield across the park and down the hill. Autumn didn't really want to go home there wasn't very much to do. Her parents were always working. So Autumn was usually home alone. They made it to her house when she noticed another doll. As they got closer Max noticed the polaroids on the sidewalk leading up to the front porch. He ran to pick them up. He was shocked when he flipped them over. They were pictures of the party that they're Grandma Brenda through. There was pictures of Arianna and Autumn, along with Max and Autumn. He was a bit confused. He talked to Tatiana that night she claimed she was in Green Bay. So that left the big question who took the pictures and why were they sent to Autumn. They got up to the steps. Autumn asked if they wanted to come in and have a soda or something.Max looked over at Arianna. She nodded he looked back over at Autumn, and told her that they could stay for a few minutes. Just so she could get settled and comfortable. She went to her room to change when her cell phone started going off. Arianna picked it up and answered
"Hello"
There was no answer on the other end. Just heavy breathing. Arianna replied again
"Hello"
Still nothing but heavy breathing.
Max took the phone out of Arianna's hand and yelled into the phone
"Bitch you have some nerve calling here. Tatiana the next time I see you your going to wish you hadn't. Stop these fucking games. Grow up your going to be a mother. Back off my girlfriend and hung up the phone.
Arianna laughed well then I guess that took care of that. But I guess it looks like we might have to stay longer to make sure nothing happens to her.
Max was more then upset. He was heated. He never wanted to hurt someone so much until now. It was making him so irritated that she didn't have any common sense. She was making things so much worst for herself. Autumn came back into the dining room. Walked to the frig. She explained that there was coke or Mello yellow.
"Hey Autumn your phone was ringing so Arianna answered it for you.
"Oh okay thanks who was it my mom I suppose to checkup on me?
Arianna shouted " no it wasn't your mom" rolling her eyes before looking over at Max I'll be waiting outside don't take to long you know how mom gets". She walked out onto the porch.
" What's with Arianna did I miss something is she mad at me?
" No it's not you it's nothing really. We all have been on edge lately. Ever since the fire. And that call just now. Nobody responded on the other end. Looks like a prank call to me. But you know Arianna and how she gets sometimes."
" I just told her the other day that they were getting worst she kept telling me she thinks the calls are from a man. But she couldn't see it clear enough in her visions. It was still only a shadow. My mom is going to get my number changed".
" Yeah I think the sooner the better, well, I should um .. you know .. I don't want to keep her waiting"
Yeah yeah totally you should go. As Max makes his way for the door Autumn says "hey Max thanks for walking me home" she walked up to him and gave him a hug. Max put his arms around her waist and held her for a brief second. He backed away slowly. Looking into her eyes they were so blue. He felt himself slip away. He felt as if he was drowning. He leaned in and kissed her. He pushed himself away and walked out the door. It was almost like Arianna knew what happened before he even said a word.
" Ugh are you ready now or what"sighed Arianna
Max just stood there for a minute trying to figure out what he just did. Then wiped his lips looked over at Arianna and said yeah let's get outta here.
"Autumn stood in the middle of the living room smiling. She had butterflies in her stomach. Her heart was beating so fast. He had totally caught her off guard but it was so worth it. she had been waiting for what seemed to be an eternity for this moment with Max. She proceeded to lock the front door and head to her bedroom. She put in her earbuds and laid on her bed squeezing her oversized teddy bear. She wanted to text him in the worst way but she didn't want come off needy. So she decided to wait for him to text her first.
While Max and Arianna we're walking home they had decided to take the long way because it had gotten so dark. They passed the old Creek when Max's phone started to ring. He glanced down and it read unknown caller. He was so done with Tatiana. And he knew it was her. He declined the call. He wasn't in the mood to deal with anymore of her drama. Especially with all the chaos going on with the house. The walk home was kind of quite until his phone started going off again this time he thought it might have been Autumn. But when he glanced down at the screen it didn't show anything. He answered " what the hell you want now you crazy phycho bitch?"
There was a deep raspy voice on the other end. "Bad children should be punished!" And then hung up.
Max squeezed his phone tightly.
"I don't have the slightest idea what the fuck that was"
Arianna asked " what was what who was it?"
"I don't know it sounded like a guy. But I didn't realize the voice."
"Okay well what did they want?"
"Nothing he said bad children should be punished! What the hell does that even mean?"
"Beats me do you think it's Tatiana I mean you can't put nothing past her. I told you to stay away from her but you didn't listen."
" I don't need another lecture Arianna please. Yes I know. But maybe it's that officer that returned my phone that night I found that diner."
"I don't know but I'm missing home shit is wack out here."
Suddenly Max stopped talking Arianna couldn't feel him next to her. There was a big thud. Everything had gotten so dark. Then there was headlights ahead and the engine was loud. It had sped off so fast she couldn't make out the car. She started yelling for Max! But he wasn't responding. She started panicking to the point of having an anxiety attack. She was shaking so bad could barely hold her phone long enough to turn on her flashlight. She was waving it around. When she noticed something in the middle of the road ahead. She started running. It was Max. Arianna was screaming yelling for help as she held his bleeding head. She quickly called 911. She was yelling for him to wake up. And to hang on help was coming. She was praying nobody would come down the road and hit him. She was hoping who ever did this didn't come back to check and make sure he was dead. The ambulance pulled up and they rushed to the hospital. Arianna called her parents to tell them Max was just hit by a car. And that he was going into surgery. There was no surprise that the police showed up wanting answers. And of course it would have to be detectives Rosa and Christian. Arianna didn't know much there really wasn't much to tell. She didn't see the make or model of the car. It happened so fast. She couldn't keep still her state of mind was all jumbled. She was just focused on Max praying he was going to make it through this. And then the detectives started asking about the fire when Tonya and Nicolas rushed in. They went to the desk first. Until Arianna yelled for them she came running they hugged her as she sobbed in there arms. Is there any news? Are you okay? Sweetheart what happened to your brother?
That's what we would like to know Mrs. And Mr. Anguiano. As they turned around toward the detectives. Mrs. Anguiano remember me it's detectives Rosa and Christian.
Yes I remember who you people are. Can you please just leave us alone. Dont you think my family has suffered enough. We don't need you people lurking over us like god damn vultures.
"Mrs. Anguiano I'm truly sorry you feel that way. But we are only here to help we want to find the person or persons that did this to your son"
"You want to know who did this go pick up Tatiana!" Yelled Arianna
