Here is a picture of what I imagine the dark castle to look like! :)

Austin watched as the king stormed out of the basement and headed to his chambers. He was relieved because the king had been down there with Avery just for a few minutes. Austin hoped he did not hurt her; he struggled not to walk downstairs to check if she was okay. He knew he could not visit her for a while because King Bryce is probably going to keep a close eye on her. He closed his eyes, a drop of cold sweat rolled down his chest and marked abdonem. Years of training and battles had sculpted his body, making him look more defined and stronger than any other barbarian.
"Sir," Belinda's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"How is she?" Austin asked not bothering to hide the concern in his voice.
"She is alright but I am afraid there is something more coming for her," Belinda explained sadly.
"What do you mean?"
"The king ordered me to prepare and take her to his chambers by night fall,"
"Take her where?" He interrupted her.
"To his chambers," She repeated. Austin's heart sank in his chest. The king only took girls to his chamber to do one thing and one thing only; it was no secret to anyone all the dirty things that happened behind those closed doors.
"What are we going to do?" Belinda wondered, tears filling her eyes. Austin knew she had become very attached to Avery as well.
"I am not sure; just follow his orders for now. I will think of something," Austin said turning his back to her and started walking off to think of a plan. He had to do something; he had to stop him somehow. Avery was just so innocent; he knew the king would stain her with his filthiness. She would never be the same after being King Hageshadow's pray for the night.
"Be careful sir," Belinda whispered as she watched him leave.
"Do not worry about me," Austin said glancing back at her over his shoulder. "Take care of Avery; she is what matters now."

Alex was sitting on his favorite wooden chair as he listened to Selena in silence. His fingers were tapping against the chair's wooden arm while he kept his eyes on Selena. He was extremely bored; like if he was going to die. Selena bored him very much but he had no choice but to listen to her eternal, annoying speech. Alex was not known for being friendly but he reluctantly had become close to Selena when she first arrived here.
Although Alex would practice black magic, he was not an ungrateful creature. He could not deny that Selena was a mostly good woman but he could see right through her disguised good intentions. Love can make us do all the wrong things for what someone thinks is for a good reason and Selena was undeniably in love. In love with the king.
"They have been spreading these rumors about this poor little girl that has lived in this castle's basement for ten years!" Selena said with exaggeration in her voice. Alex rolled his eyes placing his palm under his chin and sighed.
"So?" Alex replied annoyed.
"Is that true?"
"Yes." He stated. Selena stared at him in shock with his truthfulness. Alex did not care.
"Why would the king do that?"
"I have know idea."
"Are you even listening to me?" Selena yelled making Alex look up at her.
"Why does it matter? Do you want to help that girl?" Alex asked tilting his head to the side, ignoring her question, Alex was no fool, he knew where this conversation was going.
