The airport is busy we i get there, it's about 5 am and im dragging my suite case behind me, coffee in hand. After the long night of dropping Buffy off at the sitters, i went home and complained about how much i didnt want to go to Lucas. Grace is still a mess from the whole 'Thomas is cheating' thing. Which i can say, he is not. I know Thomas, he would never do that. Grace is way to pretty anyhow. Honestly, i can't think of a reason as to why he would even think about another women when he is with Grace.
I find my terminal and sit in one of the padded chairs and wait. Since it is still early the sky is dark, yet i can still easily see the airplanes parked and ready to go. People walk past and i can't help but let my mind drift to Noah, who is sound asleep right now. I bit my lip as my cheeks heat up. The look he gave me when i did the action sent chills up my spine. The way he told me not to do, the way his eyes stayed glued to my own. It's a moment i will never forget, even when i'm on my death bed.
"Excuse me" I turn to see an older locking women, with snow white hair smiling down at me. "Are you Sophie Travis?"
Confused, i slowly nod and sit up a little.
"There is a man over there who wanted me to give this to you" She hands me a slip of paper. I smile slightly, still confused and take the folded slip of paper. She nods to me and walks away and back into the highway of people going about the airport.
I glance around and lock eyes with a curly haired man leaning against the wall looking this way. He looks my age. I study for a moment then remember the paper in my hand. Looking down, i unfold it slowly. Scribbled on the paper, is a phone number and a note.
I noticed you from across the way. I am also traveling to Portland. Text me.
I look up again to the man leaning against the wall. So many questioned popped into my head as i thought more about this. Was he hitting on me? Well, that was obvious that he was. The bigger question is, why did he have some old women bring me the note? Why not just walk over? So many questions. My mind then goes to Noah. I bit the inside of my cheek and crumble the paper in my hand. I'm not interested.
The women in uniform, picks up the intercom and calls the flight number, saying it is now boarding. Grabbing my luggage, i walk with my ticket ready. I notice out of the corner of my eye, the man who set me the note. After she scanned my ticket i was walking down the little hallway and onto the plane. I find my seat and open the little compartment and put my bag in there. I then sit on the plane and flip thru the booklet set in the pocket of the chair in front of mine. I didn't notice the window seat next to mine was empty until someone cleared their throat. I looked up to the same man. Great.
"Pardon me" He smiles, I notice he has dark eyes.
"Of course" I say quietly, making room for him to sit.
"I see you did not follow the directions in my note" He says, he has an accent.
"Yeah" I say nervously, "I have someone"
"Do you?" He asks, his eyebrow raised. I nod.
"I do"
"That is quite the shame, senora " He smiles. I give him a slight smile and look down to my hands.
"Where are you from?" I ask, hoping to change the subject from my.. whatever you wanna call it with Noah.
"Spain" He smiles, "You?"
"Portland" I say nodding.
"Is that why you are travel?" He says "To see your boyfriend"
"Oh no" I say, "He lives here in the city, i do to"
"So you are going to see family"
"Yep"
"You do not seem to excited"
"It's because i'm not" I say with a small laugh.
He was about to say something else when my phone began to ring. We both look to see it's Noah. I silently thank my lucky stars before answering.
"Hey"
"Hey Soph, have you broaded yet?"
"Yeah" I say, "Just a little bit ago"
"Good" I hear him say. I imagine him lying in bed, smiling as he staring up at the fan.
"I'm gonna miss you" I blush a little.
"I wont even be gone that long, just till Monday" I say, "But, I'll miss you too"
"Good" he says, "Plan on spending your Friday night with your mother?"
"perhaps" i hum with a small smile, "Then again she is my mother. I might just have to think of something else to do. What about you?"
He laughs, "Britt asked me to come over tonight."
My face falls.
"oh"
"yeah i know" he sighs, "I really do not wanna do this"
"I know you dont" I say, i'm sorry"
"s'okay"
I'm about to say something else when the seat belt sign comes on and my phone needs to be off. I say goodbye and get ready to take off. The thought of Britt haunting my mind the entire ride.
