"Amma! Look! Look!" Jiho pointed to the red bird flying above their heads.
"Thats a red robin." His mother picked him up so he could get a better view of the colorful animal, now perched on a tree branch.
Jiho stared at it closely and attempted to whistle at the creature, scaring it away.

I struggled to wake up, but my eyelids felt heavy, like they were glued together or something. My entire body was in pain, especially my left leg and head.
"Stay down hun," A cold hand pushed down on my chest when I tried to sit up. My head exploded in pain from the effort and I fell onto my back again.
"Fuck," I groaned, "Where am I?"
The room I was in was bleached white, an old lady in front of me dressed in a light yellow medical suit.
She checked the machines that stood next to me. Tubes extended from them and led to my arms, where they dug into the inside of my elbow.
"You're in a hospital,"
Really now?
"Dammit." I groaned, "When can I get out?" The hospital was somewhere Id come to be familiar with, after Taeil and P.O kept daring me to do stupid shit while I was drunk.
And of course I always agreed to do their stunts. Which usually always landed me here with minor injuries, usually to my head.
But judging by all the equipment around me and the pain in my body, this time it was serious.
"Not any time soon, baby." The nurse spoke while injecting one of the tubes with something, morphine, I hoped.
"Your body has a lot of healing to do, might take up to a month."
I groaned again, louder this time, before feeling the medicine kick in.
"Now sleep, it'll make the pain go away." She spoke as my eyes became heavy and my brain shut down.
*
"Now eat 'ya damn vegetables, don't make me shove em down 'ya throat."
I woke up feeling groggy as fuck. My mouth tasted gross, but luckily the pain from earlier had subsided momentarily.
"No."
Frowning, I turned towards the direction of annoying arguing.
On the bed next to mine laid a girl, shooting death glares at her nurse in front of her, who shot them right back.
An untouched plate, piled with leafy greens, sat on her lap.
My nurse, Sammy according to her name tag, walked in and took the dish, "Leave the girl alone," She told the other nurse before turning to the girl, "You just rest, I'll bring you something else to eat later."
She walked towards me and moved the plate aside, "And you. How are you feeling? Better?"
I nodded and tried to sit up, the numbness in my body allowed me to do so this time.
"Its lunch time now. You slept through the entire day and night. I'll bring you some delicious soup in a bit."
Sammy patted my shoulder before walking out of the room and leaving me alone with the carnivore.
"You're lucky you have her as your nurse, I always get Jihyun and she's a total bitch." She spoke first after a moment of awkward silence.
I hesitated to answer, "Wh-What're you in here for?"
"I fainted, heart failure. What about you?" She eyed me, looking at my leg, which was in a thick cast, and at my bandaged body.
"Car accident."
I got a good look at her. Her hair was chestnut brown and curly, cascading down her back and over her shoulders.
She had fair skin, and light eyes that complemented it.
"My names Minji." She introduced herself with a smile and reached over the gap between our beds.
I met her small hand with mine and shook it gently, "Jiho."
*
A couple days passed, and me and Minji became close.
Every morning when I woke up, it was hard for us to begin talking. Since there wasn't much to discuss in a hospital, but once we did, we talked nonstop throughout the whole day.
"Thats not fair!" I complained after a round of eye spy, "I would've never guessed the light switch!"
Minji shrugged, a smug smile on her face, "You aren't looking hard enough."
I took it as a challenge and nodded, "Fine. My turn."
My eyes scanned the room, looking for something small that Minji would never be able to guess.
"Hm," I spotted a tiny pair of medical scissors resting on a small table in the corner of the room, "I spy with my little eye something silver."
She frowned and began to search the area, "That chair."
"Nope."
"The lamp?"
"Nope."
After a couple more guesses, she gave up and declared me the winner, something I was commonly referred to.
