"Wow." Minji breathed. She looked ahead of her, at the huge field in the middle of the woods, full of tiny yellow flowers and bright green grass.

"Honestly, when you pulled off the highway and onto that dirt road, I began to fear for my life but now.. Im glad I didn't open the door and jump out the vehicle."

I chuckled and opened the trunk of the car, "I hope you're hungry."

Her eyes widened as I took out a blue blanket and laid it out on the ground. Clearly she hadn't expected a picnic.

"Im sort of a shit cook, so I stopped by McDonalds on my way to your house. Do you want a big mac?"

She laughed and nodded, "I love big macs."

We ate in comfortable silence, taking in our surroundings. I had never visited this place during the late afternoon, but now I wished I had.

The sky was partially covered by gray clouds. But sunshine still broke through them and shone on the grass, highlighting the small flowers.

After a while, when I was on my third hamburger and Minji was halfway through her first, we began to converse.

At first it was somewhat forced, since we didn't really have anything to talk about. But later on conversation came easily. And we were soon laughing and joking around.

Once all the food was finished with, we packed all the stuff and took a walk down the field.

Out there was a small shed I used to practically live in when I was a teen. A place where I always went to get away from my so called family.

We had gotten quiet far and the sky had gotten even darker when it began to sprinkle. Not long afterwards, it began to rain, and the pour.

I took of my jacket and put it over Minji to shield her as we ran to where I remembered the tiny building was, both of us laughing loudly.

"Shit." I sighed through chattering teeth when Minji and I finally made it to the shelter.

She took her wet hair, now a couple shades darker from the rain, and put it in a bun on top of her head.

"That was fun." She grinned at me. We were both out of breath from running so far, but smiling through it.

I looked around at the abandoned place, memories suddenly flooding my mind. So many songs had been written here, some which I was known for.

"Cute place." Minji commented on it, though we could barely see anything more than a foot in front of us.

"I let it go to waste, " I shook my head.

It was no more than the size of a small room, its walls were made of sturdy brick with a concrete floor.

Due to its location, it didn't have electricity. So I always had to bring a battery powered lamp with me.

Now all I had was my phone to light up the place. Which was more than enough to see the familiar mattress in the corner of the room and the old wooden table next to it.

Minji and I sat down, and I told her about the times when I needed to get away from adoptive family, this was where I would go.

"My real family.." My breath hitched in my throat, "They died in a house fire. I barely made it out of that pile of ashes alive."

I held out my arm and pointed to the ink on my forearm. "Not many people would notice it because of the tattoo, but the skin is pretty scarred under it." I showed Minji.

She leaned in closer, her face inches from mine as she inspected the scar. She looked up at me and seemed taken by surprise at the proximity.

I didn't give her time to recover from the shock, I simply leaned in and kissed her. Like how I always had it played out in my mind.

Only this time, it wasn't a dumb scenario I had made up. This time it was real. Her actual flesh, real lips pressed to mine.

"Jiho.." She mumbled as she pulled away. God, how I loved the way she said my name.

She took a deep breath and exhaled, eyes still closed, before struggling to speak, "Wh-What are you doing?"

I chuckled at her dumb question, "What does it look like Im doing?"

We kissed again, more fiercely this time. Her lips were hot on mine as they both moved in synchronization with each other.

After a small and innocent make out session, we were laying on our backs on the old mattress.

"Not how I imagined my first kiss." Minji whispered, her voice almost nonexistent.

I sat up and looked at her, "That was your first kiss?"

She hid her face with her hands and nodded. Her cuteness made me want to kiss her all over again. I chuckled and laid back down with a sudden sense of accomplishment.

"Didn't you have any, like, boyfriends in high school or something?" I asked, feeling curious of her love life.

How can someone that pretty, go their entire life without being kissed?

She shrugged in the dark, "I had a couple boys ask me out, but I was always so focused on my school work. I didn't have time for a love life."

"So you were a nerd?" I asked, holding back a fit of hysteria.

"Yah!" She whined, "I wasnt a nerd, I just really wanted to get out of school with the highest grade I could get."

I let out a small laugh at our differences. At school, I was that one kid that didn't give a fuck. I only went because I had to. And once I was there I did absolutely nothing.

Except for cuss out the teachers when they got me pissed, and beat up kids that tried to fuck with me.

"Crap." Minji snapped me out of my thoughts. She shot up from the bed and looked at her phone, "Its 10! I-I was suppose to be home by 9:30!"

We both rushed back to the car, which was a good fifteen minutes away. And drove back into the city.

The peaceful atmosphere we were just in was soon replaced by the familiar sounds of the city. Horns honking, people chattering on the streets and even fireworks from some baseball field next to the highway.

All of this so similar, yet so different from my usual nights.
