"Its loud in here!" Minji yelled above the music, both hands covering her ears like a child.
I felt myself laugh, "We're just in the lobby, wait till you get to the dance floor." I grabbed her and tugged her along through a pair of double doors and down dark stairs.
"Woah, careful." I caught her as she missed a step and tripped into me.
She laughed sheepishly and continued to follow me down the stairs, taking them slowly until we reached the actual club and the music got even more loud.
The entire dance floor was packed with people, grinding and rubbing against each other. Most were tipsy and the rest were drunk off their ass. One could easily taste the alcohol in the atmosphere just by walking in.
I hadn't been to a club in a while, yet it felt a little odd to be here with Minji.
She was clearly uncomfortable when I looked down at her. It was obvious she didn't belong here with the rest of these girls wearing short shorts and tight tank tops.
"Do you want a drink?" I asked her, maybe some vodka in her system will get her going.
She took a minute before nodding, "Not anything too strong, please."
"Stay right here." I pointed to the floor before pushing and heaving my way to the bar across the room.
It took me ages before I finally made it to my destination. Then it took another fucking thirty minutes just to be able to get a drink.
"Hey, no cutting buddy." I grabbed a scrawny kid by the shirt and pulled him behind me when he tried to get in front of me in the line.
"It's okay, that's my girlfriend," He pointed to the chick in front of me and tried to pass me again.
I stopped him by the chest and glared, "I don't fucking care if she's your conjoined twin, get behind me dweeb." I hissed and sized him.
He looked up at me, trying to act tough, before turning around and standing behind me.
The line finally moved up to me and I ordered two vodka redbulls, specifically asking for more vodka in mine.
I put all of my concentration into not spilling a drop of our cold drinks as I made my way back to where I left Minji. Thankfully the club had died down, so it took me less time and effort to get there.
When I did finally arrive, Minji was not where I left her. I looked around the place but there was no sign of her.
Maybe she went to the girl bathroom?
I put the drinks down and forgot all about them, heading towards the ladies room just as another girl exited.
"Hey," I tapped her on the shoulder, "Did you see a girl with long hair in there? Gray jeans, crappy shirt?" She looked at me weird before shaking her head and walking away.
Fuck.
I looked around again, maybe I had missed her? But again I didn't see her. Where could she have gone?
My eyes continued to scan the area as I headed towards the back of the place and looked there. I asked a couple people and they all shook their heads.
Until one girl finally nodded and pointed me towards the V.I.P section. I asked her if she was sure, "She wore wedges?" She asked.
That was definitely her. I thanked her and half ran towards there, only to be stopped by a body guard. "Name?"
I cursed, "Im not on there, but-"
"Then you're not allowed in." The meaty man didn't even let me finish my sentence. My patience was already running low and he wasn't helping.
"Just let me in there real quick, my girlfriends in h-"
"No."
I groaned in frustration before turning around and pretending to walk away. I turned around as quickly as I could and attempted to punch the man, but wasn't able to catch him off guard.
He gripped my wrist and laughed, making my blood boil. I kicked him as hard as I could in the crotch. He grunted and let go, falling to his knees in front of me.
I cackled triumphantly before stepping over him and sprinted down the hall, opening every door and apologizing when the people inside yelled.
Even when I had gone through all the rooms, I still hadn't found her. I stood at the end of the hall, the only door left was the one that led outside. Maybe she had gotten sick and went outside?
I realized it sounded a lot like her and didn't think twice before opening the door and walking out.
The parking lot was completely silent. The only noise was the traffic in the distance.
I stood there lost for a second, before I heard a slight cry. I listened hard and heard it again, coming from the back of the building.
"Minji?" I asked as I turned the corner to the source of the noise.
Before me, a man laid on the floor. His shirt off and pants unbuttoned. Under him laid Minji.
A chunk her hair was in the mans hand, her face was dirty from laying on the filthy floor. And her clothes were ripped and torn.
Not even a second later did I find myself on top of the man. I only saw red and heard ringing, my arm seemed to move on its own as it brought down my fist towards the mans face again and again.
"Jiho, stop." I heard Minjis voice, muffled by the ringing in my ears, "Jiho, you're killing him stop."
A patch of warmth pressed against my shoulder blade, it took me a while to realize it was Minjis tiny hand.
My fist stopped midair, the disgusting piece of trash under me was nothing but pulp at this point. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and stood up, my gaze falling down towards my blood stained hands and clothes.
I looked over at Minji, just in time to catch her before she fell.
"Minji!" I held her up. Her chest was moving abnormally, her eyes rolled back into her head as her body twitched softly.
She gave a strained wheeze before going completely limp in my arms, her head falling on my shoulder.
I had no idea what was going on, or what to do. I just set her down on the floor and performed CPR. I didn't even know how, I just went off of what I had seen on tv.
My heart was racing in my chest as I continued to push into her chest.
I suddenly remembered her words from the hospital. She had a weak heart that gave out every time she was too stressed.
"Minji," I leaned down and pressed my ear to her chest, thankfully hearing a heartbeat. I called her name again and put my finger under her nose, feeling her inhale and exhale.
A couple seconds later her body gave yet another spaz before her eyes shot open and she began to choke.
I pulled her up into a sitting position hastily and patted her back, letting the coughs die down.
"You're alright." I embraced her in a hug and stroked her hair, "You're perfectly fine."
