The Intoxicating Affair

Chapter 5

Owen and I were getting ready for tonight. We are grabbing a bite to eat first at a near by hotel before heading off to a couple pubs to drink. I'm wearing black jeans, black dress shoes with a short white Ralph Lauren button up. My hair is down and straightened and I put a little bit of make up on.
"Looking handsome as always" Owen joked
"Thanks so much" I smiled sarcastically
"You ready to go?" I added, he nod his head. We caught an Uber to the hotel where we were having dinner. It was 7pm. We got a table together and started eating.
"Geez, I hope people don't think we are together... Hopefully girls will just think you're my dykey sister and they'll still come to me" Owen joked
"Piss off, I'm more likely to get a girl than you" I winked.
We ordered dinner and started talking.
"So, that photo you got sent the other night. Are you going to let me see it yet?" He smiled
"You wish mate..." I laughed
"Have you even talked to her since then?" He asked
"Not really actually haha, we messaged each other yesterday basically saying how are you and that was it" I replied
"Maybe, she's starting to give up on you" He spoke. Something in that sentence made me sad. I know I shouldn't feel sad but I would if she stopped talking to me... Maybe I am developing feelings?
"I'll be back, just going to the bathroom" I excused myself.
I walked towards the bathroom where I bumped into a man.
"Oh sorry!" I spoke as I attempted to adjust myself.
"Sorry!" He apologised himself. I looked at the man. I gave him a slight smile before seeing Julia right behind him. I was in shock.
"Summer" She spoke as she noticed me. I raised my eyebrows.
"Julia! Hey, how's it going?" I smiled
"Good good! What are you doing here?" She asked
"I'm having dinner with Owen" I pointed behind me. She looks over and smiles.
"Mm Hm" The man interrupts.
"Oh. Uh Summer this is Mike. Mike this is Summer, a friend of mine" Julia introduced us. I faced the man who's wife I could've potentially banged. I was stunned.
"Nice to meet you Summer" He held out his hand and I shake it.
"You too. Heard a lot about you" I spoke
"Good things I hope" He turned to Julia before looking back at me.
"Ofcourse!" I smiled. Julia was giving me a look but I wasn't catching on.
"Well we best be on our way. Don't want to miss the dinner" Mike spoke. I admired him quickly. He was wearing a navy blue suit with a white shirt and a black tie and black dress shoes. He was quite solid, dark hair with hazel eyes.
"Yes, sorry. I got to get to the bathroom haha" I smiled
"Nice meeting you Mike!" I added
"You too Summer" He smiled
"I'll meet you in there. I also need the bathroom" Julia said to Mike
"Okay, don't be too long" He grabbed her and kissed her head before walking off. I quickly walked to the bathroom. The door closed behind me before it opened again, Julia followed me in.
"I'm sorry about that" She spoke
"Sorry about what? He was nice enough" I replied
"I suppose. It was just awkward. He's... Yeah." She looked stressed, definitely looks like she doesn't want to be here.
"Where are the kids tonight?" I asked
"At his mother's" She replied. I took in what she was wearing. She was wearing the stay ups that looked like stockings and the black dress with black heels. Wow. She noticed I was checking her out.
"Do I look okay?" She asked nervously
"You... Look stunning. Mike is one lucky guy" I spoke
"He hasn't even complimented me tonight you know. Although he did say my dress was 'too much' for this event..." She replied. I grew angry at her response, not at her but at Mike.
"He's an asshole. You look amazing" I stated as I scan her body once more.
"Thankyou" She smiled. I couldn't stop thinking about what she was wearing underneath the dress.
"I better get going. He'll get mad if I'm gone for too long" She stated
"Fucking fucker. So sick of his shit" She mumbled to herself. She breathed calmly to herself and straightened out her dress.
"What are your plans for tonight?" She turned to me
"Just dinner then out to a couple pubs for drinks" I replied
"Oh fun, I wish I could have a drink right now but no stuck here. Have fun though! Don't get too wasted" She winked
"You too. Don't stress about Mike... You look great. If you need anything just give me a call" I stated, she gave me a smile before walking out. I quickly went to the toilet and went back to the table.
"Fuck me, you took forever" Owen so politely spoke.
"I bumped into Julia's husband and Julia!" I spoke
"Oh shit, what happened?" He asked
"Julia introduced me to Mike. She then followed me the bathroom. She told me she doesn't want to be here with him and she's mad about it but gosh she looked beautiful" I explained
"Invite her out with us" Owen suggested
"Ha, good joke. Mike wouldn't let her out and besides I'm supposed to not be seeing her remember!" I replied
"Oh yeah haha, I want to see what she looks like, where is she?" He asked
"I don't know? I think they went to a function room" I replied
"Damn..." He mumbled, I smiled at him.
