It's been a month. Work has been decently busy as it's heading into the spring season, it's getting warmer and skaters are out more. Luke and I have been flat out. I still haven't heard from Julia since she left my house. At first I felt toyed with, I thought she wanted something more and then she left and I felt kind of used and upset. I don't blame her for leaving and not wanting to continue the relationship but I suppose I just felt stronger for her than I had let on. I guess I now feel like how she felt when I left her all those months ago.
I was at the café around the corner from work, getting my morning coffee. While I was waiting for my coffee I was scrolling on Facebook when a familiar smell hit my nose. I looked up and sure enough I saw Julia waiting in line with one hand typing on her phone and the other holding folders. It bought back memories of when I first saw her. I smiled to myself, she didn't even notice me sitting here. I mean the café is busy so... I understand how she could miss my presence. She has ordered her coffee and was waiting by the bench, still on her phone. They called my name. Julia was right next to the bench so it was impossible for her not to see me. Ugh this sucks. I grabbed my coffee, we locked eyes for what felt like a life time but it was just a split second. I turned and walked away. I didn't know if I should've talked to her or smile. I wasn't even sure if she hated me. I just continued walking and didn't look back. Once I was out the café, my heart beat finally slowed down, almost felt like I couldn't breathe.
"I'll see you tomorrow Summer" Luke smiled as he walked out of the shop. It was a busy day today. I just grabbed my bag out from the back when I came out Julia was standing at the door. I stopped in my tracks and stared at her.
"Hi" She spoke first, I was still lost for words.
"Look. Today... At the coffee shop... I didn't mean to not say anything to you. I think I was just shocked to see you" She spoke again as she took a few steps closer to me.
"That's alright. You never reached out to me after... That night so I wasn't sure if you wanted to talk to me" I replied as I walked past her to turn the sign from open to closed.
"I came here to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't message or call. I've been really busy with the kids lately and to tell the truth, I'm trying to move on. You broke my heart almost a year ago now.. Wow seems crazy to think it's almost a year ago and I was trying to heal and that night we had bought back feelings that I needed to suppress" She explained. I looked into her eyes, ugh I was so infatuated with this woman. It took everything in me to not kiss her right now.
"Summer?" She added as I haven't replied.
"I understand Julia. I know I hurt you and I'm sorry, I am. I was scared and immature. I was scared for your kids... I don't know I just thought that it wasn't going to work" I spoke
"And it didn't work so I guess you were right" She replied, the words made my heart sink.
"I didn't even give it a chance and I'll regret that forever but I know you're trying to move on" I stated.
"I'm dating again. I'm meeting woman... it's different but it's been good to explore and find myself" She spoke, ugh the more she's talking, the more it's sending me further down in the sea where my heart is sinking. I nod my head.
"I shared a kiss with one particular woman..." She spoke, I tilted my head down. I didn't want her to see the expression on my face and how upset it's making me.
"But... She wasn't you" She added, I looked back up to her in surprise.
"All these women aren't you... they don't make me feel the way you made me feel" She spoke, I looked at her intensely while listening.
"I'm trying to get over you but I can't. No matter how hard I try... I even tried going further with this woman and I couldn't..." She explained as she took a couple steps closer to me, filling the space between us. I grabbed her and kissed her. I wasn't even thinking, my body just took over my mind. My tongue invading her mouth but she was accepting it. We stumbled back to my counter while kissing. She broke our kiss.
"What are you doing? We can't do that... Here" She spoke as she pointed around.
"It's my shop" I simply replied as I kissed her again. She once more, broke our kiss.
"Summer, come on" I kissed her neck.
"Fuck" She whimpered. Her moan sent me. I needed her right here, right now. I seperated from her for a moment while locking the front door and then grabbed her hand and led her into my back office. I shut the door and popped her up on my desk. It was a small office but we'll manage. Julia shifted all the stuff on my desk, off of it. Her skirt slid up her legs the more she spread them. I stood between her legs and kissed her. Unbuttoning her blouse. She got off the desk and shoved me up against my office door. Hitting my door quite hard but it only turned me on more.
"Spread your legs" She whispered. Goosebumps appeared on my skin.
"Is dirty talk something you picked up from the other women?" I smirked, she gave me a wicked smile before sliding her hand down my jeans. We made love for what felt like 10 minutes but an hour had passed. As we were putting our clothes back on, Julia checked her phone.
"Shit, it's 6.15!" She spoke
"Yes it is" I replied
"My kids are getting dropped off in fifteen minutes!" Julia scrambled her things together. I was sad she had to leave so soon.
"When can I see you again?" I asked
"Don't ghost me this time" I added with a smile. She gave me a cheeky grin.
"Are you free Friday night?" She asked
"For you I am" I smiled
"Sleep over my house" She spoke. I looked at her in shock. We've never 'slept' together really...
"Are you sure? What about the kids or are they at Mike's?" I asked
"No they're at mine but I'm sure they wouldn't care if you had a sleep over. Just means you'll have to be extra quiet" She winked. I was still in shock.
"See you Friday?" She added as we were walking out my shop.
"See you then" I smiled and watched her walk in the opposite direction. I couldn't help but do a little jump. I just had the best sex with the most amazing woman and now I get to sleep with her, next to her, ugh what a dream. I still had doubts... Mainly with her children... What will they think?I walked into the shop this morning. Luke was already here.
"I think someone broke in last night!" He spoke. My heart sank.
"What?!" I rushed in.
"It doesn't appear that anything's been stolen but the office is trashed! The safe was locked so I'm not sure" He spoke
I saw the mess on the floor and immediately started giggling.
"What?" He gave me a weird look.
"Oh that was me last night.. Just had a moment, I forgot to clean up. My bad" I laughed
"Oh thank god! I thought someone broke in! Are you okay though?" He asked
"Yeah yeah I'm great! It was just a moment, all good!" I replied as I picked all the stuff up.Throughout the day, Luke and I made some small talk.
"Are you free Saturday night?" He asked
"Uhh yeah I think I will be, why's that?" I replied
"It's my birthday, so I was wondering if you wanted to come out with me and a few others?" He asked
"Oh for sure! Where you thinking about going?" I asked
"Just around town, dipping from club to club" He replied
"So you're in then?" He smiled
"Yeah for sure!" I returned the smile.
