My nose scrunched as I sneezed, "Fuck my life!" I grumbled to myself. My feet were splashing in puddles as the rain was beating down on my head.
I swear every bad or embarrassing scenario that you can think of would happen to me. I have always had bad luck socially.
I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I groaned as I got it out of my pocket.
"Hello!" I shouted over the rain.
"Shit! You trying to make me deaf!" Heather shouted back.
"Sorry, it's raining!"
"I tried calling you before but you wouldn't answer. Anyways, Bobby asked me to go to this party tonight and..."
"You're going with him, right?" I said as I rolled my eyes.
"How did you know?"
"Ummm..." I don't know why I didn't tell her the truth. For some reason, in my head, anything to do with Jax should be kept a secret because if you're involved with him, you're automatically categorised as being no good, "Word gets around school pretty fast."
"Oh...well can you please come! Like Bobby is cute and all but I think I would feel better if you were there."
I sighed, "Look I'll think about it. I'll call you back when I get home! The rain is getting-" Suddenly the sound of thunder claps in the sky. I scream in fright, "Call you later!" I hung up on her. I was too distracted with the fact that I am still a while away from home.
I whipped my head around when I saw a car pull up. I stepped away cautiously. Who the hell is this?
The window rolled down and there sat Jake Remington, one of the most popular guys in school. I stood there dumbfounded.
"Hey! You need a ride?"
"What?!" I shouted over the rain. I knew what he asked, I was just in shock that he was talking to me.
He chuckled, "You look like you need a ride!"
I quickly opened the door of the car and jumped in. Jake chuckled, "What're you doing walking in the rain?"
"Oh," I said while laughing nervously, "I don't exactly have a car. I've always walked to and from school."
He nods his head, "Oh. My name's Jake by the way."
"I know." I mentally slapped myself in the face. What the hell is wrong with you, Milly! Why would you say that! You sound like a total creep now!
I laughed again nervously, "I mean, everyone in school knows you."
Jake chuckles, "I wouldn't say everyone. I'm just a regular person like you." I mentally rolled my eyes, yeah right.
Jake glanced at me for a moment, "You're in some of my classes, right? You're names Milly?"
I smiled and nodded my head, "Yeah that's me." It's crazy how you can got to school with someone for so long and only just now began to talk to them.
"Yeah I'm pretty sure you're in my biology class."
"Yeah I am. We've been in the same classes together for a couple of years actually."
Jake chuckles and scratches the back of his neck, "I'm embarrassed to say that I don't really remember you."
I shrugged, "You've got better things to focus on than people like me. I'm not offended or anything."
"Yeah but, if I had paid more attention...I would've gotten to meet you sooner." He smiles and side eyed me.
