"Hurry we need to cut it out!" The doctor shouted.
"She's lost too much blood!"
My mind was in this numb and fussy state. I didn't know what was happening. I didn't know where I was. All I knew at that moment was that I was dying. I saw the lights on the roof flash past over my head as they rushed my bed to the surgery room.
I had a oxygen mask over my mouth. I saw so many faces looking down at me and I didn't recognise a single one. I felt so alone and at the same time I didn't. I accepted right then and there that I was going to die. That if they put me to sleep right now...I may not wake up.
A man with a mask over his mouth and funny blue cap over his head looked down on me.
"You're going to be okay, Milly. Everything is going to be fine."
And soon the lights blurred as well as the roof. I felt weightless. I felt like I was floating up as I the edges of my vision slowly began to consume my sight until I felt like I was in the darkness of outer space.
And then I was gone.
