•LIAM•

I never remembered my mother. I knew she loved me. I knew that she built that sandbox for me. I just never knew she would come back. I never knew I would have a sister. I never knew she would be evil.

My bed bent under my father's weight. I continued to stare at my ceiling. Ignoring him. His hand rested on my shoulder and I shrugged it off. Again he put it on my shoulder. This time I sat up and glared at my father.

His eyes were watery but his face was stern. His tie was loose, backwards and his shirt crumpled. His pants were dirty and needed to be washed. His beard was growing too long. He needed to shave.

"Liam. She is not evil. She is your little sister. You must treat her like a little sister. Nobody ever told you but Sam made some bad choices some years ago. That didn't last long. We helped him and he got better. Things can get better for Cassidy as well."

I didn't believe him but nodded. He got up off my bed and went to my door he opened the door and leaned his head against it.

"Just promise me that. Promise that you will do better in this family."

I knew his unspoken word. I knew them. I could read them in his head.

Better than me.

I willed an unspoken promise to my father's back. I promised I would try to do better but I don't work with evil. I don't trust evil. I never will. Not like my dad.

Never like my dad.

I woke up and yawning, rolled out of bed. The carpet was soft as I walked across it with bare feet. I pulled open my drawers and began to throw clothes into a backpack. Today I would see my uncles. I wanted to live with them. It was nice at my house but I didn't feel safe. I threw on some clothes and rushed out to the kitchen with my backpack.

Cassidy was in the kitchen. She was still in yesterday's clothes. She didn't look as if she had even slept. I sighed. I would have to get her ready. I set my backpack on the counter and grabbed Cassidy's hand.

"We have to get you ready. We are going to see our uncles today."

Cassidy ripped her hand free but followed me to my room. I grabbed a spare backpack from the closet and began to stuff some clothes into a bag. Lastly I handed her some clothes to put on.

"Put these on and give me your clothes that you are wearing. I will wash them so that they will be ready for when we leave."

I grabbed her backpack and waited outside the door for her dirty clothes.

I ran up to the driveway when I heard the Impala. They were finally here. Dean was the only one in the car. He pulled to a stop beside me. His usual bands were blaring from a speaker. Sam wasn't in the car so I assumed he was at their place. I threw our backpacks in the backseat and glancing at the front door, motioned for Dean to turn the music down.

"Dean there is something I have to tell you about Cassidy."

"What?"

The hairs on the back of my neck rose. Cassidy had asked at the same time as Dean. She was behind me. I turned around. For a ten year old she could strike fear in you pretty good. She sure scared me.

"That you need to stop by a store for clothes since you have none."

She knew I was lying. Dean knew too but he shrugged and told us to get into the car. We did and he threw us back a couple of bags to cover our heads.

It was the regular drill. Nothing new for me. For Cassidy, I don't know because she went into a rage and panicked. Not good. Dean ended up calming her down and I put the sack on her head. Once hers was secure I put mine on. This drive will be such fun. I fell asleep like usual so the journey was short for me. Luckily. Dean isn't as fortunate. He had to drive and Cassidy wouldn't go to sleep. She had even managed to crawl up front.
