A Lost Memory

I raised my hand to sip at the hot chocolate in my mug. I was sitting in a motel room with four men. There was Dean the hot guy from the car, Castiel and Balthazar who were angels and Sam who was Dean's younger brother. "S-so you aren't serial killers or rapists or anything?"

Sam shook his head smiling. "No. Don't worry." Sam had a gentle nature even though he was so giant. I had calmed down now that the threat from Castiel was gone. "Well." Balthazar said getting to his feet and finishing his drink. "I best be getting back to my life. I've got some company coming over." He winked at us and disappeared.

"So you were ordered to kill me? Why?" I asked Castiel who was leaning against a wall. He sighed. "I do not enjoy killing and was upset to be assigned to the task but hybrids are dangerously strong." I shivered. I didn't feel strong. Apollo jumped up on the bed I was sitting on which just so happened to be Dean's. Dean was about to say something about Apollo when his phone rang.

"Yes this is Alan Murphy. Mhmm. Okay. My partner and I will be right over." Dean flipped his phone shut and began to put on his coat. "More cattle mutilations and a body." Dean relayed to Sam. "Coroner called me up." Sam hurried out the door with Dean following after a quick 'do not kill eachother' warning.

Only Castiel and I remained now. Cass had been staring at the floor but raised his eyes to meet mine. My heart began to thud in my chest. He began to walk forward. I stopped breathing and stared at him. My eyes were caught in his blue ones.

"What were you running from?" Castiel asked stopping a meter away from me. I gave him a confused look. "When we found you. What were you running from?" I shook my head and layed back on the bed closing my eyes.

"Hello there. Are you alright?" I opened my eyes. I was in a barn laying on a hay bale. A women's face was gazing kindly in mine. I sat up. I knew this was a memory but it felt so real. "Who are you?" It was my voice but I wasn't speaking. The women smiled. "I'm your guardian angel." She picked me up effortlessly and set me down. She was much much taller and I remember this barn as the one I hid in when I was little. "Come on. It is not safe here." I followed her out of the barn. She stopped at the doors. "Go back. Wait a little longer." I walked down the dusty country road gazing back at the woman.

I opened my eyes. "I wasn't running from anything. I was running to something and I had found it." A tear leaked from my eye. Castiel sat down beside me. "What did you find?" I looked away until I could control my tears. "I found my guardian angel. I found my mother."

"Well that would explain why no one could ever find her." Balthazar concluded. "Her mother was hiding her from angels." The angel held a glass of wine in his hand. He sipped it and set it down on the table. "Alright missy. Let's go find your mom, shall we?" I shook my head and tried to ignore the confused looks the angels were sharing.

I sighed. "If we go looking for her it could endanger her and ourselves. How do we even know that she is alive?" I sat up and sat criss-cross-apple-sauce on the motel bed. They shook their heads. Balthazar picked up his wine glass. "Well if you decide that it is worth a shot give me a ring."

Once again only Castiel and I remained in the room. I imagined some cherry cheese cake and a fork. I began to eat it in layers. Castiel was watching my every move. I felt so unnerved I turned to him. "What is it?" Castiel didn't answer. I sat waiting for his answer before giving up and sighing. I flipped through television shows unable to find an interesting show. "So what brings Sam and Dean to Canada?" Castiel tilted his head. I was beginning to find that very hot. His voice was deep and monotone. "I thought you knew." I shook my head and he continued. "They came to this universe to find you. You were hidden from angels. We tried different universes even. Balthazar and I were to search this universe.Sam and Dean decided to work a case while we pieced together information on you."

Wait did he just say that there are alternate universes?

"So this isn't my universe?" I asked feeling like an alien. Castiel bent his head. "No you are from Sam's and Dean's."

For the next three hours I watched The Mentalist. I curled up on Dean's bed and fell asleep.
