Trapped: The Lost Island

Chapter 8

-After a long time-

"Does this maze ever end?" Bethany asks.

"Yes, right now actually," Corey says as they all walk out of the maze into the end of a long hallway.

"Down the hall," Riley says pointing down the hallway.

They all run down the long hallway that leads into a huge open room. Inside the room, a wall with holes in it and puzzle pieces laying all over the ground, a door.

"What is this?" Avery asks picking up a puzzle piece.

"The puzzle!" Jet says walking towards it.

Jet turns around and looks at the group.

"This puzzle....holds the missing piece of the map which leads to Toltec and his treasure. We just need to solve it. The only thing is...," Jet says unfinished.

"Of course, a problem!" Bethany says.

"The only thing is that it has never been solved before," Jet finishes.

"Well that sucks," Max says with Juno nodding his head in agreement to Max.

"See, even the monkey agrees," Bethany says.

"We can't just stop here guys!" Sabrina says.

"Yeah," Riley adds.

"We came here with a goal," Corey says.

"Exactly," Avery adds.

"We need to find the treasure," Lucas says.

"Yeah," Max says with Juno agreeing.

Lucas looks at Max funnily. Max and Lucas laugh at each other.

"Traveler! I see you have found my puzzle. No one but I has figured out how to solve it. In front of you should be scattered puzzle pieces. Each pieces represents either a person, place or object. You must figure out a riddle, carved into the back of the wall. Once you figure it out, take the pieces and put them in the correct order of the holes in the wall to open up the door to receive the map. Have fun," Toltec explains.

Everyone turns around and looks at the back wall.

"I don't get it," Riley says.

"It's because it's written in Spanish," Jet says.

"Hopefully Spanish class will help," Sabrina says.

"Yeah, hopefully," Lucas adds.

Everyone stands there so confused. Everyone but Bethany. Bethany reads the wall, standing there in deep concentration.

"Bethany? Do you know Spanish better than us?" Avery asks.

"Of course I do! I'm part Spanish yah know!" Bethany says.

"And Canadian," Max says with a chuckle.

"No," Bethany says with a straight face.

"Can you translate it for us?" Lucas asks.

"And why would I do that?" Bethany says in return.

"Because if we don't get to Toltec, get the treasure and get off this island in time, we are stuck here forever!" Jet says angrily.

"Good point," Bethany says nodding her head.

"So..what does it say?" Riley asks.

"It says...the emperor was murdered but who's done it? Try and figure out who, with what object and where in the temple they killed the emperor," Bethany reads.

"A murder mystery, awesome!" Corey says.
