Nine years later

Charming, California

"Both of you stop, just stop." He shouted when he saw Brie and Gemma tidying up the house's mess.

"This house looks like a pig sty." Gemma replied ignoring her son's request.

"The house needs to be clean before he gets here." Brie tried to remove a stain on the couch.

"He will not survive." Jax said angrily, taking both of them by surprise.

"What do you mean, what happened?" Gemma was apprehensive and Brie approached.

"The stomach is out of his body and he has a hole in the heart, he will not survive. You heard Tara, he only has a 20% chance." A slap on his face followed the sentence.

"If you don't believe, you should go there yourself and kill him." Gemma used all her roughness.

"Gemma!" Brie complained. "Please, it doesn't help at all."

"Sorry." He asked them both.

"You need to go see him, Jackson." Gemma encouraged her son.

"Yes, Jax, he's perfect." Brie smiled.

"I can't." Jax said with regret.

"Why? Because it will break your heart?" Gemma stared at him." Well, this is called 'being a father', something that you should already know.."

"For how long?"

"For the rest of your life". Brie intruded and a great sadness came overwhelmed her. "Because no matter how long he lives, Jackson, Abel will be always your son." She took a deep breath, trying to hold back the tears and push the memories away.

"Sorry baby!" Jax, sensing the effect of his words, hugged her and kissed her forehead. "I'm scared, it's like I'm reliving what happened to Tommy."

"You and your brother were born with the same heart defect, unfortunately Thomas did not resisted, but you are here." She looked at him. "Your father was struck by a semi-automatic and dragged for miles and yet lived for two more days." She explained. "Teller's don't die easy and this baby is a Teller."

"No, we just die bloody." He joked and everyone laughed.

"It's the Irish blood in us." Gemma commented giving another drink in his joint.

"Joscelyn should be here to see this, to see him and be his aunt." Jax commented, taking the joint from his mother's hand. The comment made everyone shut up. "I know I've asked this question several times ..."

"And we never answered". Brie knew what was coming next.

"Yes, but please, I'm begging you." Taking the hand of the woman sitting next to her, Jax stared at her. "Where is she?"

"She doesn't want to be found, Jackson." Gemma repeated herself. "She doesn't want to come back."

"Believe me, I tried many times." Brie missed her sister.

"At least let me talk to her." He begged.

"Jax ..." Brie had her doubts, as much as she wanted her sister back, she was afraid that if she told him where Joss was, it would push her further away.

"Illinois." Gemma fired. "And this is all we know."

"We think that it might be Chicago, but we are not sure." After Joss left California, she moved around many time and always made Brie and Gemma aware for which state she was going, but she never was specific to which city she moves. Joss knew if she went somewhere nearby a Sons of Anarchy clubhouse, they would surely send someone to find her. They've been trying for years to convince her to come back to Charming.
