Chapter 19: Remembering!

Third Person POV

15 minutes after the villains left, the ambulance and fire trucks arrived. Of the 41 students, 15 had lost consciousness and were in a critical state due to the gas that was released by one of the villains. 11 students had injuries, ranging from minor to severe. 13 were uninjured.

2 had gone missing...

Of the six professional heroes, one suffers a head injury and was in critical condition. And one that had left a heavy trail of blood had gone missing...

On the other hand, on the villains' side, three were immediately dealt with and arrested. The other villains, who left them behind...vanished without a trace.

And so the forest training camp that Class 1-A and class 1-B of U.A High had been looking forward to...came to an end, with the worst possible outcome.

2 days later...(U.A on summer break)

Izuku's POV

Immediately after the attack, I was transported to a hospital close to the training camp.

For two days, I was drifting in and out of consciousness and taken with a high fever. During that time Recovery Girl came and treated my injuries. The police also came to visit me, but...I don't remember a single thing.

I blankly stared at the white ceiling of my hospital room not saying a single word and not moving a single muscle. After a few minutes I looked to my left to see a bowl of fruit and a small note that says, "When you wake up, eat this and call me."

Moms handwriting, I thought. Then suddenly, another thought came to my mind as I looked back up to the white boring ceiling.

Kota...I wonder if he's alright.

"Ah! Midoriya! Your awake now!" A familiar voice said in excitement making me look towards the door.

My classmates...they all came.

"Have you been watching TV? The media's all over U.A. It's pretty bad." Kaminari said looking at me with a worried look on his face same as everyone else, except Mineta who smiled and brought me a melon which he says everyone bought for me.

"We've caused you trouble, huh Midoriya..." Tokoyami said looking down in shame. "N-No...I should be saying that..." I said my voice coming out croaky and dry from not talking for a long time causing me to cough a little.

"Is everyone from class A here?" I asked after Iida quickly passed me a cup of water. Looking around I noticed the class looked a little small, meaning some people were missing. I just couldn't put my finger on who just yet.

"No..." Iida said after a moment of silence and a few glances that were passed around making me confused and slightly scared. "Jirou and Hagakure still haven't regained consciousness from the villain's gas...and Yaoyorozu suffered a serious head injury so she has also been hospitalized. She supposedly regained consciousness yesterday though. So those 3 aren't here..." Iida explained scratching the back of his head, not making eye contact with me.

"...that still makes just 15 of us." Uraraka said a distant look In her eyes. "Well, Bakugou and Y/N are gone, after all." Todoroki said making something inside of me snap.

"Stay back...Deku..."

Kacchan...

Y/n...

They were taken...

"Todoroki..." Ashido hissed at him as he looked down eyes closed. The rest of the class looked at me in silence, worry and pity, as I looked back up to the white ceiling tears slowly building up in my eyes.

"All Might told me...You can't save people where your hands can't reach. So that's why you have to save anyone who is within reach..." I said my voice shaky as I felt the tears roll down my face.

"But I...I was in reach that time....I had to save them...m-my quirk...the whole purpose of my quirk...it turned out exactly how Aizawa said it would." I finished saying, voice cracking, clenching my teeth in frustration and anger as I remembered his exact words.

"If you go on trying to just save someone by yourself, you'll end up no better than a fool"

I wanted to scream. To disappear. I feel so useless and I'm angry at my self for everything that has happened. For letting Kacchan and Y/n slip though my dam fingers. "My body...couldn't move..." I whispered out tiredly.

Things got quite yet again, until Eijiro's foot steps broke the silence. He looked at me not in worry, nor pity. He looked at me seriously and I can see the fire and determination in his eyes with the words he spoke next, "Then this time around, let's save them."

"H-Huh?" We all said looking at him in confusion. He started explaining to all of us how him Todoroki came to the hospital yesterday with the same thoughts in mind, not being able to just sit and do nothing. They explained how they chanced upon a conversation between All Might, The Police and Yaoyorozu.

"Yaoyorozu explained how she gave one of the students from Class B a tracking devise to plant on the back of one of the villains and how it was successful and how the villain didn't notice a thing. She handed All Might and the police a devise she created that tracks the signal from the transmitter planted on the villain." He finished explaining closing his eyes as he knew everyone knew where he was going with this. Someone was bound to disagree with what ever he was planning.

"I know what your thinking and it's not happening, you hear me?! As All Might said, this is a matter that should be left to the professionals! THIS IS NOT a situation FOR STUDENTS LIKE US to be meddling with, you idiot!!" Iida yelled out in anger as he stepped closer to him.

"DAMN IT MAN, I KNOW THAT ALREADY!" Eijiro yelled out clenching his fist and closing his eyes in frustration. "But still! I couldn't do anything! And I can't just sit and do absolutely nothing now! Hearing that our friend was being targeted, then hearing that one of us turned evil suddenly, I couldn't do anything about it! I DIDN'T do anything about it!" He yelled out looking back up at Iida.

"If I don't do something about it here, then I won't be able to call my self a hero or a man!" Eijiro finished off. "U-Um...I think Iida is right." Tsuyu quietly said but we all caught it.

"I know Iida is right, everybody's right, but even still!" Eijiro yelled out, less loud than before as Kaminari reminded him that we are still in a hospital and to quiet down a bit.

My eyes widened as Eijiro turned to me suddenly. "Listen Midoriya," he started saying as I slowly sat up struggling a bit since both of my arms are still casted. "Your hands can still reach them!" He said stretching his hands towards me. I looked at him my thoughts running wild. Is it a good idea? Should we really risk it?

Should we really go or should we stay?
